Not really. I can't think of any board I'd buy for less than $300 or so. There are a lot of things about the cheaper boards that piss me off. Agreed.

People forget that AMD's FX-51 and FX-53 processors were right at $1,000 as well. But yes, we've had it pretty easy with the mainstream segment in terms of CPU prices. It's motherboards and GPU's that are absolutely out of control in terms of pricing.
