  1. stupid huge 57" Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 240hz monitor on "sale" for $1800

I think it makes a certain amount of sense on these super-wide monitors. For something like my Acer Predator CG47K, it wouldn't make sense.
  2. main site wants me to login with google

I just went to the main page and it prompted me to login with my Google account.
  3. ASRock Z790 PG LIGHTNING Motherboard Review

There isn't much to it. The thing was absolutely stripped feature wise. It's the work truck with crank windows and rubber floors kind of experience.
  4. ASRock Z790 PG LIGHTNING Motherboard Review

Introduction Today, we are taking a look at what I can only describe as the most budget-oriented Z790 chipset-based board we have seen lately. At first glance, I thought it would be virtually impossible to go more value-oriented, but I was wrong as ASRock has another model that’s about $10 less...
  5. ASUS ROG Maximus Z790 HERO BTF Motherboard Surfaces at French Retailer for 799€

The Hero is usually the lowest end of the ROG boards outside of the STRIX models. That price seems insane for such a board.
  6. Star Wars: The Acolyte Reveals New Poster and June Premiere Date on Disney+

Looks like the lightsaber was used for *** play and slid across the sidewalk. WTF is this? Given what we know about the show, I think its going to be the usual woke dumpster fire.
  7. Batman Is Irrelevant If He Can’t Kill, Director Zack Snyder Says

Batman didn't do that. In fact the only death he caused on screen was the Joker's. Other deaths were implied, but not explicitly shown. Beyond that, I take each film or series as a universe of its own and don't necessarily mind them going off script. What I disagree with is Nolan's statement...
  8. Embracer Sells Saber Interactive for $247 Million, Exits Russian Market

What's interesting is I don't see DECA games, which is where they moved Star Trek Online. Based on their earnings calls its still a solid earner. It was operating under Cryptic but has now been moved to DECA and Cryptic is effectively being shut down.
  9. STAR WARS: Battlefront Classic Collection Launches with Mostly Negative Reviews on Steam: “Worse than the PS2 Game”

Well, the original games were great. Maybe EA's trying to rewrite history by ruining everyone's memories of these games so that the garbage they put out in the future will look good by comparison?
  10. STAR WARS: Battlefront Classic Collection Launches with Mostly Negative Reviews on Steam: “Worse than the PS2 Game”

I had a good laugh at this part: “They somehow unfinished a finished game. Impressive.”
  11. New Dodge Charger Unveiled as “World’s First and Only” Electric Muscle Car

This decision never made sense to me. It's one thing to phase them in gradually, but to go all in at this stage seems premature at best.
  12. Intel Core i9-14900KS Will Hit 6.4 GHz with New MSI Overclocking Profile

I'd like to try this. I wonder how long it can really stay in boost like that. Not long I'd imagine.
  13. Star Wars Jedi Director Forms New Studio Giant Skull, Developing Triple-A Action-Adventure Game in Unreal Engine 5

I don't know how they are doing it. A AAA game studio is going to take 3-5 years to create their first game on the conservative side. We've seen fairly large games done in less time but there are a ton of problems that come with that. It takes an enormous amount of resources and they'll...
  14. emptyvessel Announced as New Triple-A Studio with id Software, Naughty Dog, Activision, and Other Veterans, Developing Unreal Engine 5 Sci-Fi Shooter

Bungie is probably the best example of a success story. Though in their case the entire studio split from their overlords leaving Halo behind. To their credit, they didn't try and create a "spiritual successor" to their hit game which always ends up feeling like a copy of a hit game adjusted...
  15. emptyvessel Announced as New Triple-A Studio with id Software, Naughty Dog, Activision, and Other Veterans, Developing Unreal Engine 5 Sci-Fi Shooter

One thing I've noticed over the years is that "veteran" developers forming a new studio isn't a guarantee of anything. A lot of times they are one hit wonders whos best work has already been done. Destiny & Destiny 2 have certainly been popular, but not to the same degree as Halo. So on their...
  16. 14th Gen Intel Core i9-14900KS with 6.2 GHz Boost Clock Is Priced at $749: Micro Center

Not really. I can't think of any board I'd buy for less than $300 or so. There are a lot of things about the cheaper boards that piss me off. Agreed.
  17. 14th Gen Intel Core i9-14900KS with 6.2 GHz Boost Clock Is Priced at $749: Micro Center

People forget that AMD's FX-51 and FX-53 processors were right at $1,000 as well. But yes, we've had it pretty easy with the mainstream segment in terms of CPU prices. It's motherboards and GPU's that are absolutely out of control in terms of pricing.
  18. Batman Is Irrelevant If He Can’t Kill, Director Zack Snyder Says

This is an example of someone who doesn't understand the source material and does not respect it. This is why he is the wrong choice to make a Batman film.
  19. ASUS Launches TUF Gaming GT302 ARGB Case with Support for Hidden-Connector Motherboards

Uninspired but functional looking I guess.
