  1. Cyberpunk 2077 Has Tarnished CD PROJEKT RED’s Reputation Forever, Joint-CEO Believes

People surprised by Cyberpunk's state seem to forget how awful the Witcher III was at launch. How short people's memories seem to be. Granted, Cyberpunk was worse but I think a big part of that was the runaway hype train CDPR created for the game over the better part of a decade.
  2. Todd Howard Calls Bethesda Games “Irresponsibly Large” as Starfield Launches Shattered Space Expansion for Xbox Series X|S and PC

The problem is that Starfield only really has copy and pasted POI's and very little out there to see. You have a huge environment that contains nothing. The world traversal isn't very good either. The vehicle sucks and before we even had that you had to run everywhere.
  3. GIGABYTE Unleashes AI Performance and Infinite Power with X870E/X870 Motherboards for AMD Ryzen 9000 Series “Zen 5” Processors

I'm even more sick of "AI" in marketing than I am of the lower case "i" added to everything after the iMAC came out.
  4. Assassin’s Creed Shadows Has Been Delayed to 2025 for “Polish” and a Day-One Release on Steam

That would require massive replacement of buildings and game assets as well as changing the main protagonist. They also need to switch out all the flags which were used without permission of that family and buy up all those statues of the broken gate etc. and put them in a landfill or melt them...
  5. Bethesda Is Reportedly Not Sending Out Review Copies For Starfield’s Shattered Space DLC

They generally don't. Most DLCs aren't really large enough to warrant it and even if they were, they don't usually alter the basic gameplay. That said, we saw lots of reviews for Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, but it also coincided with a very large patch that overhauled a lot of the games'...
  6. Microsoft’s Contracting Policies to Blame for Halo’s “Downturn in Quality,” Former 343 Industries Dev Says

This is how the game industry has worked since at least the early 2000's. I used to know a lot of people in the industry back in the day. None of those people work in that industry anymore for various reasons. I think "contracting policies" is probably code for hiring people on criteria other...
  7. Assassin’s Creed Shadows Has Been Delayed to 2025 for “Polish” and a Day-One Release on Steam

I fixed that for you. What's interesting is that Ubisoft has never cared about quality or a polished day one experience. Day one release on Steam is really just an attempt to get more people to buy the game as a lot of people hate Ubisoft's trash Ubiconnect (or whatever its called) launcher.
  8. Ubisoft Exits Tokyo Game Show and Cancels Press Previews for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Fueling Speculation of Delay for Feudal Japan Action RPG

It's a Ubisoft game. It may not be unplayable but its probably in a terrible state which will render it unplayable for some people. All Ubisoft games seem to ship this way to some degree. Every game I can think of I've played from them was barely functional at launch. They could reverse course...
  9. Ubisoft Exits Tokyo Game Show and Cancels Press Previews for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Fueling Speculation of Delay for Feudal Japan Action RPG

I don't know if they are going to delay the game or not. However, they are certainly not showing it in Japan given the negative publicity they've already received from Japanese gamers. They'd likely be laughed off the stage for showing that piece of crap in Japan.
  10. Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver I & II Remastered Launches for PS5 and PS4 on December 10

I was a huge fan of these games back in the day. Too bad I don't have a PS anything.
  11. Rocksteady Studios Teaming with Sony for New Batman Game, It’s Claimed

After the craptastic Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League game, I don't think the studio has it in them to do a decent follow up to that series.
  12. “Startlingly Dull”: Critics Are Divided on Joker: Folie à Deux

I lost interest at the pretentious title.
  13. Sony Cuts the Cord on Concord Just 12 Days after Disastrous Launch: Game Goes Offline This Week, with Refunds Being Issued to Players

Not Sony apparently. I can help predict failures before they happen. Their next game, "Fairgames" may do even worse. They need to shut that pile of **** down before they tarnish the Playstation brand anymore. The only people who are going to make money on that dumpster fire will be the...
  14. Anandtech Sails Off Into the Sunset

Even some of the ones that are still around aren't the same. That includes Tom's and PC Perspective.
  15. Half-Life 2 RTX Gets One-Hour Gameplay Video from Gamescom 2024 and Nova Prospekt Trailer from NVIDIA

In this case maybe. But with Quake / Quake II RTX, the game is largely unchanged. They just added ray tracing and that's it. Half-Life 2 RTX looks quite a bit better as a result of larger changes.
  16. Anandtech Sails Off Into the Sunset

As David said earlier, Anandtech hasn't been the same in about a decade. This is when Anand retired and it was purchased by the same media company that owns Tom's Hardware.
  17. LG Display Begins Mass Production of 27″ 480 Hz QHD Gaming OLED Panel

Since 2015, I've used a 48" and a 49" Samsung TV and an Alienware 34" prior to the Acer 43" CG437KP I use currently. Prior to that I was using 3x30" Dell 3007WFP-HC's. I got my first 30" in 2007 or 2008. I've been using larger displays for almost a decade. Dropping to 27" doesn't appeal what so...
  18. Squirrel with a Gun Launches with a Higher Peak Player Count than Concord on Steam

This is probably the first indie title I've ever seen that actually looked like it was worth playing.
