  1. Americans Are Using Subtitles More Often, with Poor Audio Mixing and Hard-to-Hear Dialogue Being Chief Complaints

I've been complaining about audio for years. My wife rips in to me when I have to crank up the volume just to hear wtf the people are saying, only to have our eardrums blown out by an extremely loud next scene. It's complete $H!T mixing. No amount of money spent on audio equipment can fix it.

  3. Poll Results Show $700–$800 as the Ideal Price for the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080

It always chaps my a$$ when we, the consumers, can't get something. And then we watch J2C or GN with stacks of said product. "oh, you can't get RTX-Whatever? Well, I'm going to try 4 of them in SLI!" ...... really want to reach through the monitor and choke someone.

We won't see QD-OLED from LG as that's a patented Samsung technology, unless Samsung is licensing the use to LG, which might be the case.. And as far as I know Samsung is making their own OLED panels for Samsung and Sony branded QD-OLED displayed. The Alienware also uses a Samsung panel.

  9. AMD Pits Its Radeon RX 7900 Series Graphics Cards Against NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 4080

I agree. $1000-2000 is a tough pill to swallow on a GPU alone. Even for people that can afford it. That's most people's whole budget, which has to include a monitor, keyboard, mouse and headset. Makes those pre-build combo deals pretty enticing, even if the specs are low to low-mid. And you're...
  10. Thermaltake Unveils CYCLEDESK 100 Smart Gaming Desk

A Zwift setup is considerably cheaper. I spent like $500 on a Kickr trainer and spare wheel with trainer tire. Use a laptop for Zwift. You use your road or mountain bike, swap out the rear wheel, mount it in the trainer and fire up Zwift. The trainer connects to your PC via USB and Zwift...
  11. Thermaltake Unveils CYCLEDESK 100 Smart Gaming Desk

There are online cycling tournaments using Zwift. It's kinda cool. Most people I know that use Zwift for training get a mobile, height adjustable laptop cart. 12. AMD Pits Its Radeon RX 7900 Series Graphics Cards Against NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 4080

The reason those lower cards rule the roost is that's what primarily comes in pre-built gaming PC's that cost $1000-1500. That's what mom and dad buy their kids. That's what people feel comfortable, or are reluctant, to spend on a gaming rig. 99.9% of people aren't building their own gaming...

  14. AMD Announces 4th Gen EPYC Processors with Up to 96 Cores, Up to 2.8x More Performance

I could use a few dual socket blades with those bad boys on them. What really sucks is you can't have a mixed environment of intel and amd in vmware. HA doesn't work. Which sucks because I couldn't add capacity with these, I'd have to replace entire clusters. That's a big PITA.

  18. Mark Zuckerberg Fires Over 11,000 Meta Employees After Spending $15 Billion on Metaverse

I'm betting there was so much fat at meta/facebook that did nothing for the company. Trimming it was a good thing. Musk kind of opened the door to do that. And Meta's stock has been on a fire sale lately.
