If you asked your average European hardware enthusiast what brand of desktop processor was on their wishlist, it would most likely be AMD. The European Hardware Association's latest poll numbers are in, and AMD has taken an obvious lead in popularity over Intel: 60% of respondents expressed a distinct preference for the former, a 10% increase from May's survey. Evidently, the tipping point was the release of AMD's Ryzen 3000 CPUs.

The poll results also provide quite a bit of insight on Europeans' GPU preferences. Naturally, NVIDIA is the big winner here, with over half of AMD users/prospective owners preferring GeForce GPUs. But there's still good news for red team, in that interest in Radeon is rising, not falling.

“While Nvidia is still the dominant force in this segment and 72.8% of the technology enthusiasts, early adopters and influencers who read EHA publications would choose GeForce, the launch of AMD’s aggressively priced Radeon RX 5700 and 5700 XT products has made an impact”, explained Crijns. “Back in May, less than 19% of our readers were choosing AMD graphics. Today that number is closer to 23%”.
