The possibility of AMD’s Zen 2 CPUs supporting memory speeds as high as 5000 MHz hasn’t been debunked yet, but 3200 MHz appears to be a go. Leaker @momomo_us has confirmed that Ryzen 3000 processors will support the JEDEC 3200 MHz specification.

That’s a good bit higher than the previous generations’ official support at DDR4-2933 and DDR4-2666. It also beats out Intel's Coffee Lake (JEDEC 2666 MHz).

@momomo_us also posted an image alluding to OC memory speeds as high as DDR4-4400.

The new Zen-2 CPUs codenamed Matisse will officially support DDR4-3200 with an effective clock of 3,200 MHz and 25.6 GB/s per channel. In dual-channel configuration, the data rate increases to 51.2 GB/s. In comparison Intel currently is at JEDEC 2666 MHz for the latest Coffee lake generation.
