Warner Bros. has revealed the title to Christopher Nolan’s next epic, “Tenet,” an action epic evolving from the world of international espionage. The plot is being kept tightly under wraps, but shooting has commenced on the secretive project, which Nolan wrote and will direct across seven countries.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Kenneth Branagh have recently joined the cast, which already includes the likes of Michael Caine, Robert Pattinson, Elizabeth Debicki, and John David Washington. Hans Zimmer, one of Nolan’s long-time collaborators, will not be involved due to his commitment to Denis Villeneuve’s Dune project. Black Panther composer Ludwig Göransson will score the film instead.

Tenet is scheduled for release on July 17, 2020.

“Tenet” is Nolan’s follow-up to the Oscar-nominated war drama “Dunkirk.” That film became a huge box office hit, collecting $526 million in ticket sales across the globe. It also earned Nolan his first directing Oscar nomination. Nolan’s acclaimed arsenal of work also includes “The Dark Knight” trilogy, “Inception,” and “Interstellar.”
