Dead Island 2 Goes Gold After 8+ Years In Development, Now Releasing One Week Earlier in April 2023

Deep Silver and Dambuster Studios have announced that Dead Island 2, their long-anticipated zombie-slaying game and sequel to Techland's 2011 original, has finally gone gold, and to celebrate, fans are being told that they will be able to get their hands on the game sooner than expected. According to a press release from Deep Silver, Dead Island 2 will now be available to purchase on April 21, 2023, a week earlier than scheduled, although still way, way later than when the game was originally meant to surface (Q2 2015) following shifting studios and other problems relating to development. Critics of the franchise have been eager to point out that Dead Island 2, whose PC version appears to be exclusive to the Epic Games Store, was first announced in June 2014 as part of Sony's E3 briefing.
