Activision has announced that Diablo IV is Blizzard Entertainment's fastest-selling game of all time, setting the highest pre-launch unit sales ever on both console and PC for Blizzard despite only having officially launched today on June 6, 2023. The new milestone was achieved during the game's early access period, which, despite only lasting four days, drew over 93 million hours of playtime from players, or, more dramatically, over 10,000 years. Activision explained that this is equivalent to "playing 24 hours a day since the beginning of human civilization."

Interesting.

I thought it was just being panned a couple of weeks ago.

Either way, I do not understand the appeal of the Diablo series at all.

I was dragged into playing Diablo II back in the day when it was new by friends who enjoyed it, and it bored me to tears.

it was like Progress Quest but with mouse clicks. LOTS of mouse clicks. Like enough mouse clicks to kill your mouse.

For crying out loud can we come up with a more obscure metric? What does this even mean? Just tell me sales numbers or get off my lawn.
