I'm a little bit of G.Skill fan as I have 3 kits in three different rigs but I'm simply running them at stock and not trying to OC them but I have used many other brands in other builds over the years. OC'ing ram isn't something I've taken on yet but have had good success with CPU/GPU/Vram.

Anyway here's a story I found interesting:

 
Something funny to mention is that I actually re-purposed one pair of fans from one kit and attached it to the back of my HAF 932 case for additional exhaust for my 4930k/2080TI. :)
 
Overclocking RAM makes things feel so much snappier even if people think it doesn't help much for fps.

Always wondered if that affects the CAS latency at all? Seems like the 'snappier' feel would be due to less latency.
