The future of high-density data storage may come in the form of smallish wafers. Adamant Namiki Precision Jewelery, a company based in Japan, has shared a press release confirming its success in developing technology for mass producing diamond wafers that measure only 2-inches but are capable of storing an enormous amount of data.

Is this talking Zattabyte levels of storage?

Is it going to take a year to format? What are read/write speeds - guess till have 5-10+ years of development ahead of it - or will it go the way of bubble memory?
