If you're a Windows 10 user who hasn't installed KB4517389 update yet, consider yourself lucky. Microsoft has confirmed that last week's cumulative update may result in a critical error message when accessing the Start menu. A fix will be released in "late October."

While a fix for the Start menu SNAFU is coming, it may not arrive for up to a couple of more weeks. In the meantime, affected users can either deal with a broken Start menu, or roll back the problematic update. Those who choose to go the latter route [can] uninstall the update.

I resumed my computer from standby after leaving my computer to update and couldn't click on the start menu .. rebooted and all has seemed fine since ..so I'm not sure if that was the SNAFU or not
