Microsoft has announced that its new Edge browser, which is built on the Chromium engine, will enter the "stable" channel on January 15. All Windows and macOS users should be able to try it on that day, but the final beta (version 79) is already available for those who can't wait.

The new Microsoft Edge is built on the Chromium engine, providing best in class compatibility with extensions and web sites, with great support for the latest rendering capabilities, modern web applications, and powerful developer tools across all supported platforms.
