MSI has announced that it is bundling Naughty Dog's PC port of The Last of Us Part I with purchases of select MSI gaming monitors. The monitors that are eligible for this promotion include the MEG 342C, a premium gaming monitor from MSI that features a QD-OLED panel with 3440 x 1440 resolution with 175 Hz refresh rate, and the Optix MPG321UR-QD, an IPS monitor with 4K panel and 144 Hz refresh rate. MSI also announced that it will be offering fans a chance to win The Last of Us Part I PC game codes on social media, although more details about that will be coming at later date.

I "had" a MAG 30-inch that worked well for what it was. Unfortunately, while replacing the window blinds in the cave a couple of weeks ago there was an incident with something falling on the monitor arm that caused it to smash into my receiver. No physical damage is to be seen but when turned on you can tell it's toast.

Otherwise, it was a decent monitor for what it was, a $300-ish 30-inch 21:9 1080 HDR400 G-Sync 200 Hz. It was my only experiment with an HDR-Ready/400 display and my biggest complaint is that even in a dark room it was too dim. Otherwise, I was plenty happy with it. That does remind though that I still stand by what I've said before in that you really need at least ~1000 nits to enjoy HDR, 600 might be the bare minimum, but all these HDR-ready/400 displays don't really have enough brightness to make a difference for HDR. The C2/C9 and Z9D all have proven that to me.
