NVIDIA is planning to limit the production of the GeForce RTX 4070 because it isn't selling as good as the company had anticipated, according to a report stemming from a user on the Chinese Board Channel Forums. While it's unclear how true this actually is, NVIDIA critics continue to point out how the GeForce RTX 4070 is readily available at MSRP ($599) from the usual retailers, including Newegg, which shows many models, including the MSI Ventus GeForce RTX 4070 and GIGABYTE WINDFORCE GeForce RTX 4070, available to ship straight away. Benchmarks that do not seem to work in the GeForce RTX 4070's favor also continue to surface online, although early sales figures that TechEpiphany shared over the weekend, on the other hand, indicate that the graphics card had no problem being a top seller at some retailers.

The danger of deflation (the opposite of inflation) is that people will stop consuming while waiting for the price to get lower.
I can definitely go longer without "consuming" a new GPU, than NVIDIA can go not selling GPUs.

Supply and demand doesn't just mean having something in stock. It means offering it at a price which the market is willing to pay for it.
