Another week, another shoddy PC port. Obsidian Entertainment and Private Division launched The Outer Worlds: Spacer’s Choice Edition yesterday, a new, "ultimate" version of the award-winning RPG that includes remastered graphics and more, but following a hugely negative response from early owners, Obsidian has now admitted that the game is the latest in a long line of disappointing PC releases, having apologized to players on the game's official subreddit, where they're being encouraged to submit bug reports. Some players on Steam claim that the update is so badly optimized that even GeForce RTX 4090 and 4080 GPUs are struggling to hit 35 FPS under the 4K Ultra setting, which is surprising, being that the game lacks ray tracing. The Outer Worlds: Spacer's Choice Edition is currently available at a discount for $47 on Steam, although those who own the base game and all of its DLCs already can get the upgrade for $9.99.
