I am picturing NVME drives that need dedicated power and independent water cooling loops but it serves data before you request it thanks to quantum dot requests.

We spent an awfully long time stuck on 3.0.

It's not like you have to use it just because it exists - I'm all for these new standards. Maybe someone will figure out something useful for them.

I agree. At this point it's all about picking a platform you want to be on and settling down with it. I've got my X570 done the way I want it and PCIe 4.0 is plenty for me atm.

well pcie6 spec has been released. pcie7 is still in planning.
