New numbers for a Ryzen 3000 series CPU have popped up on Geekbench. Wccftech, who spotted the entry, is confident the 6-core, 12-thread CPU is a Ryzen 3 3300 due to its clock speeds (3.2 GHz base, 4.0 GHz turbo), which sync up with past leaks. If the benchmark numbers are to be believed, it’s faster than the current Ryzen 7 flagship, the 2700X.

The Ryzen 7 2700X has a single-core score of 4923 points and multi-core score of 25209 points, but the Zen 2-based Ryzen 3 3300 exceeds both at 5061 and 25481. That’s mighty impressive, being an entry-level part “with two fewer cores and significantly lower base and turbo clock speeds.”

It’s very important to point out that Geekbench is Geekbench, this doesn’t necessarily mean that the Ryzen 3 3300 is going to outperform the 2700X at every task or benchmark. But it gives us a decent indication as to what to expect from AMD’s Zen 2 chips. With that being said, these figures are absolutely astonishing for what is rumored to be an entry level $99 CPU.
