Intel's latest desktop processors are getting cheaper, and it's all thanks to AMD. DigiTimes has learned that 8th and 9th generation Core CPUs are getting discounted by as much as 15%.

This is the company's response to Ryzen 3000, whose release is just around the corner. Sources from inside the motherboard industry say Intel has already begun notifying its partners about new pricing.

This could see prices of popular gaming/enthusiast SKUs such as the Core i9-9900K, the i7-9700K, and the i5-9600K, drop by anywhere between $25 to $75. AMD is launching the Ryzen 9 3900X to compete with the i9-9900K, the Ryzen 7 3800X to compete with the i7-9700K, and the Ryzen 5 3600X to take on the i5-9600K.

eagerly await for your guy's reviews of the new Ryzen chips vs my 2700x to see if I "need" ... to upgrade :sneaky:

Sadly, I won't have time to do as many comparisons as I would want, but squaring off against the 2700X is a must. I've gathered the data on the 2700X, so we'll see how Ryzen 3000 compares.
