Is your old 32bit linux Ubuntu machine still chugging along just fine? Does it still play those old Gilligan's Island re-runs?

If so Ubuntu is not for you anymore. Although Gilligan's Island does still rock after all these years!

Starting with the next release for Ubuntu 19.10 (Eoan) they will be dropping i386 support for older machines and going 64bit only.

Not surprising with most if not all newer machines being 64bit and the amount of effort to keep up both 32bit and 64bit repositories.

It is sad with some of the older machines even though still running fine will have no support after the last LTS stops its support.

The thing is, most CPU's have been 64-bit for over 10 years now. I can't see this impacting too many people.
