I'm not sure I agree with the Thermaltake floe recommendation considering it has a 2 year warranty, vs a Corsair equivalent (5 year warranty) or NZXT (6 year warranty). Was there a specific reason for not going down this road?
While I don't like super-fast boots (due to being unable to easily get into the bios), outside of that I've noticed boot times sped up significantly since I moved the swap file to the optane memory (32gig) drive I have.
Is running well the benchmark? I mean Origins ran well. Heck Batman games work fine in my computer but are universally seen as poorly done.
Fallen order has the frame rate parry bug thing ..
I think optimised is a difficult term to define.
Sekiro is optimised, it is 12 gb or so and has tremendous graphics and speed for the size
In contrast The latest Jedi game is 55gb and a slight downgrade in graphics and sometimes stutters.
Only one game I have played really uses all 8 cores of...
Hardware (especially processors) in Australia is notoriously overpriced in comparison to in the USA.
One time I was over there I got myself an i7-3770 for about $270AUD from microcenter, same processor locally was about $500AUD.
Too early to call it.
Question becomes - what does the market...
This is crap.
Asus really need to just stop telling porky pies.
They have turned me right off as a result of this and their pricing. they are 20-30% more expensive (than Gigabyte or Asrock) for 20-30% worse equipment here in Australia.
This isn't software geekage so much as hardware.
There is probably a hardware counter in a microcontroller somewhere that can only count up to X, at a certain point because someone has not implemented an autoreset and because of a hardware mismatch problem, the easiest way to deal with this is...
Hey @Dan_D nice update
The reason you see gains in the After effects test is because some parts of it run single threaded code.
Sometimes you need to figure out B before you can run a+b and b+c concurrently.
It’s a really interesting test cause it stresses both single thread and...
The Gigabyte K8NS-Pro https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GA-K8NS-Pro-rev-1x#ov
It was the budget board for overclocking at the time. It doesn't compare with the new stuff in terms of overkill VRMs and style (it's kind of kiddy) but it was a lot of board for the money, and it was well supported.
Currently playing a fair bit of Warhammer 4k Inquisitor Martyr, I got it cheap in the steam summer sale and I'm really enjoying it.
I have shadow of war queued up as my next game, same sale.
