A set top box is cool (and I'd very likely pick one up), but what I'm really excited for is that controller. The trackpad is the one feature I miss most after moving to the ROG Ally.
Spec-wise it seems a bit low to me too (especially the 8GB VRAM), however if they can price this right and...
Yar, agreed there. While some games do offer full KB+M support, there shouldn't be any reason the whole catalogue of games shouldn't offer it (especially if there's a PC port of the game that already has KB+M support). I'm hoping with the 'fairness' aspect of gamepad vs kbm being downplayed in...
Pretty interesting, and I'll be honest - I'm finding more and more of my gaming needs could be serviced by an APU. Heck, probably my most used gaming device is a ROG Ally.
I'm just hoping, whatever the next Xbox looks like, it's more a games console than a PC. I'm finding myself more and more...
I believe I had multiple original design 360s (had to get a RROD replacement once or twice). I remember doing a 'towel' trick to temporarily fix one of my 360s and it actually worked. Only for a few weeks, mind you, but it worked.
I also had a 360 'Slim' variant (or whatever they called it)...
Yeah, pretty exciting development. I picked up a ROG Ally for the Gamepass access, but ended up not resubscribing to Gamepass and just installing Bazzite because Windows was a pain to use on a handheld (a 'sleep mode' mishap nearly cooked my Ally).
I'm not really feeling the urge to upgrade my...
I can't say I use my Series X much anymore (gifted it to my youngest and he enjoys a few games on it), but if the next Xbox is basically a Windows PC with a 'game mode' (ala SteamOS), I'd be on board.
I already have MS new console name picked out: Xbox PC. It can act as a 'recommended spec'...
I've been using it on my ROG Ally and have been having a great time with it - it's actually made my ROG Ally my main PC lately (my Ally is a lot quieter than my desktop). I was dual booting Bazzite and Windows at one point, but (iirc) a Windows update borked my dual boot and instead of finding...
I'd be up for this - really like how my ROG Ally complements PC gaming for me (cloud saving makes it easy to switch from device to device). Combine that with the rock solid stability of a Playstation console - that would make for a great time.
I think MS would be at a bit of an advantage...
Maybe to create demand for a new round of micro consoles? (I know I'd grab a Dreamcast Mini).
Otherwise - yeah, not seeing the benefit of pulling them from the digital storefronts. I've appreciated how Sega sold their library on multiple platforms, so hopefully this is just a temporary thing...
Yeah, that's what I thought the S conversion would be like when MS first announced it (and it made sense). Going by what rumour sites leak out, it was the lower RAM of the S that's been the biggest hurdle for ports.
