Do you think they’ll be able to adapt this algorithm for high resolution for standard TV series streaming in the near future?

this is probably only for video call & sharing across social networks. i don't think its for paid entertainment

another use for your AI PCs 🤔🤔

See what i see here is ai being used to prevent data leaks and keep people from sharing how bad things are. Coukd be in a company.. could be in a nation... a new live censorship program.

MadMummy76 raises a fair point about NPUs sitting idle for years, and that workload-for-workload skepticism is healthy. Still, Marees's numbers on MLVC are the part that matters: if 360p really drops from 1 Mbps to roughly 122 kbps at comparable quality, that's a meaningful bandwidth saving, especially on weak connections. The catch is quality drift from hallucination, which nobody has fully answered. Alexander, it sounds like you're weighing whether the efficiency gains justify trusting a generative codec at all. I'd want independent A/B results from Teams before calling it the new normal.
