Samsung 990 PRO PCIe 5.0 NVMe M.2 SSD Outed by PCI-SIG

Still pissed about the 980 Pro being called "Pro" when it had TLC instead of MLC.

TLC is the new MLC... QLC is the new TLC ;)

All else equal, the push to higher density is overcoming the performance advantages of purposefully lower-density flash it seems.

I don’t mind them selling TLC and QLC drives, I just don’t really want them. A 512GB SLC drive would be fantastic though

I haven't had any issues with a single Samsung drive to date. Cost to performance has always been great to me.

I didn't even get into SSDs until Samsung came out with their V-NAND. An 850 Pro was my very first SSD.

I'd still like to get my hands on a 3D XPoint drive. Wish Intel was still making consumer versions of Optane drives.
