I'm done chasing bleeding edge. The cost versus the return is no longer justified, for me. Once these 5000 series cards drop I'll most likely pick up a used 4090.

It is relevant, and I didn't single out you. People are complaining about the potential power draw on these 5000 series cards. There are costs when it comes to playing at the bleeding edge.

Have you used an ARM based laptop? I had some hands-on time with a Surface Pro with the Snapdragon X1E-80-100. It was SLOW SLOW SLOW as balls. Took forever just to open apps. Intel and AMD are not concerned.
  6. NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 Won’t Be Significantly More Expensive than RTX 4090, It’s Claimed

Unless you get lucky at launch to find one for MSRP I suspect it'll be near impossible to find one that isn't being scalped for $2500+. Even retailers are getting in on the price gouging. So, figure 5-7 months until the craziness dies off.

  15. Upgrade Deal Alert: AMD AM4 Processors at All Time Lows

It's ridiculous that the 5700X3D is $190, but the 5800X3D is still $390-400 if you can find it. The 7800X3D is $400. Some of this pricing makes no sense.
