  1. Is your BIOS up to date?

Yes. On my X470 I did it and it fixed my VGA POST errors somehow. In the ~10 or so years I've been into computers, I have never had a BIOS update fix an issue like that. Funny part is, none of the issues I was having were mentioned in the updates.
  2. SSD Prices May Be Going Up Again

Yeah like with WD and the other HDD manufactures where a single flood caused increased prices for like what, 10 years? Yeah I'm sure this is due to demand though. South Korea and Japan acting like children certainly isn't helping.
  3. Ubisoft Is Bringing More than 100 Titles to Uplay+

I guess that's one way to keep having people "buy" new games.
  4. 2019 Prime Day(s) Megathread

Feels like another classic Prime Day, mostly garbage with a couple decent stuff here and there.
  5. Editorial: Are Socket AMD BIOS's Too Fat?

Why spend money on useful features when you can just shove RGB everywhere! I feel like a "get off my lawn" old man and I'm not even 30 yet....
  6. Why Copy Paste... When You Can Swipe? Cooler Master MasterGel Series TIM

So basically a bigger version of what Thermal Grizzly has on their thermal paste tubes :sneaky:
  7. Amazon Developing Free-to-Play Lord of the Rings MMO

Except it seems even $60-$120 games these days have that

It's based on PresentMon, use OCAT on AMD systems if you've got a tinfoil hat
  9. Paradox Interactive Calls Steam’s 70/30 Revenue Split “Outrageous”

I don't allow any of the launchers to open at startup and close them whenever I am done with gaming on that specific launcher. Never worry about rogue updates!
  10. What CPUs are in your Machines?

Current Main Rig: 3770K @4.4ghz - Soon to be relegated to the plex server since my X58 Classified is pretty much dead Soon to be Main Rig: 2600X
  11. Red Dead Redemption 2-Sooner than later?

I would expect it to be released around late 2020 or whenever the new consoles are coming out at the earliest. It's a great game and I wouldn't mind buying it again on PC.
  12. NVIDIA Releases FrameView, a Free Performance and Power Benchmarking App

Wow perfect timing. I'm currently in the process of benchmarking my current PC so I can compare it to the Ryzen parts coming later this week!
  13. Apple Updates 13″ MacBook Pro and MacBook Air, Kills 12″ MacBook

MacOS has better dpi scaling, generally runs pretty well for a long time and battery life is generally better. If you don't care about gaming, it's a great choice especially for college where you aren't generally doing any performance intensive tasks.
  14. AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT and RX 5700 Video Card Review

They are barely hitting RTX efficiencies while being on a smaller node AND they still can't really beat those cards. When Nvidia goes 7nm or w/e they are going next, they will once again kill AMD. Hopefully AMD figures something out in their GPU department, because Nvidia isn't like Intel and...
  15. IBM Closes Its $34 Billion Purchase of Red Hat

They are still making multiple billions in NET profits, which is something everyone seems to always forget.
  16. AMD Confirms Custom Radeon RX 5700 GPUs Coming in August, Defends Blower Design

The blower will always perform worse than the 2/3 fan models because it can only pull in so much air with that 1 fan. Good airflow would probably help the AIB models more than the blower. Personally I would wait for the AIB models, watercool it or use an aftermarket universal cooler.
  17. AMD Confirms Custom Radeon RX 5700 GPUs Coming in August, Defends Blower Design

It's good for the rest of the components, but it has a pretty big impact on GPU temp/noise that I would argue it isn't worth it.
  18. MSI Had to Dumb Down the BIOSes of Its Older Motherboards for Zen 2 Compatibility

Looks like Asus is using 256Mb on their X470 boards and 128Mb on their B450. Good to know they didn't skimp out.
  19. AMD Ryzen 9 3900X CPU Review

I ended up just getting a 2600X since there was a deal with the Strix F gaming for $210. Worst case I upgrade to ryzen 4000 next year :)
  20. MSI Had to Dumb Down the BIOSes of Its Older Motherboards for Zen 2 Compatibility

Where do you find the size of this? Asus mentions a 256Mb flash rom bios which would be 32MB.
