  2. Secret Level: Amazon’s New Adult-Animated Video Game Anthology Series Features Arnold Schwarzenegger, Keanu Reeves, and More

It also features Concord  They were so confident it will be a giant hit that Sony actually paid the production company to include it before the game was even released.
  3. Piracy Causes a 20% Drop in Game Revenue, Denuvo DRM Research Finds

Rotten tomato that you just have to pretend to like - Rotten tomato that you are forced to eat.
  4. Piracy Causes a 20% Drop in Game Revenue, Denuvo DRM Research Finds

Political correctness is mostly just speech, DEI is putting it into practice. You just wasn't allowed to mention inconvenient truths, now you have to actively pretend those facts are not true.
  5. GOG Wants Gamers to Know Its Offline Installers Can’t Be Taken Away from You While Steam Reminds Them That Players Only Get a License to Play

Unless this changed recently you could run different games at the same time just not the same one. I hope GOG will give early warning before going out of business. I don't want to download every installer just in case.
  6. Piracy Causes a 20% Drop in Game Revenue, Denuvo DRM Research Finds

Boardrooms were always a thing since game development grew out of garages and became an industry employing hundreds of people per studio. It's not as if they only started meddling recently. So no, I don't buy this as a reason. If anything there is not enough meddling. Just look what happened to...
  7. Piracy Causes a 20% Drop in Game Revenue, Denuvo DRM Research Finds

I think they count downloads not even installs. I truly couldn't afford games in the 90s and early 2000s in Eastern Europe because they cost the equivalent of 2 weeks minimum wage. You can't convert people into paying customers with DRM who can't afford to pay for games. You also can't...
  8. Piracy Causes a 20% Drop in Game Revenue, Denuvo DRM Research Finds

If I'm not convinced a game is good and there is no demo, I just ignore it. I wouldn't even bother to set sail.
  9. 50 TB HDDs Are Coming in 2026–2027, IEEE Says

Well I've been only using HDDs as cold storage since 2011, but so far haven't had any failures outside of the drives that already failed while filling. Still every HDD has a backup copy.
  10. Piracy Causes a 20% Drop in Game Revenue, Denuvo DRM Research Finds

We investigated ourselves and found that our product is really beneficial - Denuvo I'd trust criminals to police themselves rather than trust any "study" by a DRM software maker on piracy.
  11. Internet Archive Suffers from “Catastrophic” Security Breach, Impacting 31 Million Users

Those were my first thoughts as well. The scraping and archiving is done automatically, and you can access the archives without an account, so what is it for?
  12. Upgrade Deal Alert: AMD AM4 Processors at All Time Lows

It seems to be between 5-10% according to gamersnexus At current prices you'd be a fool to go for the 5800X3D, however when I got mine, the 5700X3D was roughly the same price as the 5800X3D, not just in price / performance, but outright on account of it being new. But since February this year...
  13. Alien: Isolation Celebrates 10th Anniversary with Sequel Announcement and Release of Original Video Game Soundtrack

You don't know what you're missing :D In senua when you get to the end of a level you literally have to walk back to the very first room you started in every time. It is utterly ridiculous.
  14. Alien: Isolation Celebrates 10th Anniversary with Sequel Announcement and Release of Original Video Game Soundtrack

I think backtracking is overly vilified in games as a concept, but it is not always a problem. I hated the backtracking in Senua's Sacrifice or in Control, but not in Alien Isolation or System Shock II (which is basically the spiritual predecessor to AI)
  15. Alien: Isolation Celebrates 10th Anniversary with Sequel Announcement and Release of Original Video Game Soundtrack

If I remember correctly it wasn't that the doors magically opened due to story progression but you needed to find the equipment to open certain passages.
  16. Upgrade Deal Alert: AMD AM4 Processors at All Time Lows

The 3D V-cache versions are completely off the market here in the EU. IDK if this is a temporary stock issue or they stopped supplying them in order to push enthusiasts to the newer AM5 platform ?! I seemingly actually purchased my 5800X3D around the lowest price point in February, it was...
  17. Most Gamers Prefer Single-Player Games, New Research Reveals

It seems I am the only one who never had this issue, 220V FTW. At first we were using BNC cables, and I had a few extra 10Mbit ethernet cards that I'd lend out to those who didn't have their own. Portable desks are one thing, we were using every possible surface as a computer desk. Including my...
  18. Ubisoft Is Reportedly in Negotiations With Epic Games Parent Company Tencent For A Buyout Deal

Can't be worse than what Ubisoft is doing with them. Driver - shelved since 2011 Rainbow Six - shelved since 2008 Splinter Cell - shelved since 2013
  19. Starfield Design Director Says Sci-Fi RPG Is Bethesda’s “Best Game Ever Made” as Shattered Space Expansion Drops to Mostly Negative Rating on...

Hey, I liked the Mako physics in Mass Effect. It was consistent and predictable if you knew what you are doing, unlike this glitchy mess.
