  1. Take-Two Should Price GTA VI at “$80, or Even $100” to Help the Game Industry Rebound in 2025, Analyst Says

I do agree that the production costs for games has went up astronomically. I do not agree that the price needs to just because of that. I would contend that price should correspond to value, and that production cost does not equate to value. Sucks if a distributor throws a ton of money...
  2. Sony to End Production of Blu-ray Disc Media, MiniDisc for Recording, and More in February: “There Will Be No Successor Models”

Whelp, I guess I have to say - I agree that physical media looks/sounds better than streamed. And I will miss it when it's gone. But, if I look back, having purchased all of four 4K BD titles in my life - yeah, I can see why it's dead.
  3. Square Enix Celebrates the Launch of FFVII REBIRTH on PC with New Artwork and a Breakdown of the Latest Features, Including Enhanced Lighting and T...

It's a very Japanese thing. Look at a lot of Japanese titles - games and anime... You either just accept it, or realize it's not your bag and walk on by. Here's a good example, courtesy Google, from an Anime that was discussed in the TV thread recently: Ghost in the Shell Watch Order The...
  4. AMD Delaying RDNA 4 Was the “Right Move,” It’s Claimed as Red Team Reveals It Needs Extra Time to Optimize Performance and Enable More FSR 4 ...

Wasn't nVidia's margin part of what put evga out of the GPU business? They were pretty healthy from what I recall on the gamer/consumer products, and I imagine even better on the commercial products. I'm sure there's a good bit of overhead and R&D costs in there that aren't insignificant. But...
  5. Nintendo Switch 2 May Be Released as Early as April, RoboCop and Test Drive Publisher Reveals

Really mostly interested to see if they go back to nVidia for this and what specs get put on the SOC. Nintendo has never been a hardware performance chasing outfit, just want to get a peek under the hood at what nVidia is cooking up because I know they are wanting to bring more ARM SOCs out to...
  6. AMD Radeon RX 9070 Series “RDNA 4” GPU Launch Has Been a Mess Because Their Prices Are “Significantly Too High,” It’s Claimed

Just like all the new cars that pump in V8 engine noise. If the car sounds better, it must go faster, right?
  7. ENDORFY Introduces Crystal Series Mousepads with Moisture-Resistant Fabric, Setting a New Standard in Affordable Style and Precision

Funny, my Ratzpad never had an issue with moisture. I never could stand those fabric mousepads, they always got disgusting after a bit. Kinda like the Logitech rubber coating.
  8. AMD Radeon RX 9070 Series “RDNA 4” GPU Launch Has Been a Mess Because Their Prices Are “Significantly Too High,” It’s Claimed

I can't wait until we have a new metric called "perceived performance" Or a "Rendered vs Generated Frame Ratio" Not sure what marketing would spin it as, but for the rest of us, it would be real frames vs fake frames.
  9. The Phanteks Evolv X2 Is an Elegant-Looking PC Chassis Featuring a Tri-Panel Glass Design with a Brushed Aluminum Interior

So, looking at this - the foot kinda struck me as odd. Not used to seeing a fully elevated case like this (maybe there are others, idk, but this is the first I've seen). Also those lower side-mounted USB slots, rather than being on top of the case. The more I look at it, the more it grows on me.
  10. GAMDIAS Launches the ATLAS P2 CG Curved Glass Panoramic Case with Fish-Tank-Inspired Design, Embedded Display for Real-Time System Monitoring, and ...

You have a good point, surprised we haven't seen more reversable designs, or at least some left-handed cases.
  11. Take-Two Should Price GTA VI at “$80, or Even $100” to Help the Game Industry Rebound in 2025, Analyst Says

I mean, when we say GTA is a thing... https://www.radiotimes.com/technology/gaming/gta-5-sales-numbers-revenue/ It's not the top-grossing IP of all time, but it's got enough sales to definitely raise some eyebrows. It's beating out (vis a vis revenue) some pretty big names, like Lord of the...
  12. First Images of NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 FE Surface, Including New Power Connector, Reviews Go Live on January 29, It’s Claimed

This is the revised, non-melty version of the older firey one? Not some new new connector, right?
  13. Take-Two Should Price GTA VI at “$80, or Even $100” to Help the Game Industry Rebound in 2025, Analyst Says

I don't really care about GTA but this is still interesting. If any game could get away with a $100 sticker price, it would be GTA. There are plenty of folks that will buy it just because it's another GTA game, and there hasn't been a new release in 12 years. And everyone will cry that it's...
  14. ASRock Intel Arc B570 Challenger 10GB OC Video Card Review

Not sure if the other GPUs would suffer similarly. I don't recall from previous testing if they do - or at least, I bet that testing hasn't been re-run with a 9800x3D to see if they get an uplift. Not advocating that anyone does that... but if you are looking at spending around $200 on a GPU -...
  15. Over 80% of Players on GeForce RTX GPUs Activate DLSS for Boosting Performance in Games, NVIDIA Reveals

I would guess, since we are using random percentages from invested sources, that over 70% of players on GeForce RTX GPUs just roll with whatever settings the game defaults to, or whatever GeForce Experience/GeForce App sets for them, and don't make any adjustments -- and that they wouldn't know...
  16. Halo: The Master Chief Collection Is Coming to PS5 and Nintendo Switch 2, It’s Claimed

PC is a bit different than porting God of War to Xbox Console though. Microsoft doesn't get a cut via console licensing by going to PC. They get a healthy cut going to Xbox console. I guess you could try to say that Microsoft gets the Windows license sale.. but they don't get that for each and...
