  1. Steam Deck OLED: Limited Edition White Launches Worldwide Next Week for $679

Oh wow, OLED? Looks at my PS Vita from 2012 with an OLED display. How cute.
  2. GIGABYTE Says Its X3D Turbo Mode Allows Ryzen 9000 Series CPUs to Achieve Similar Gaming Performance as Their X3D Versions

That's an odd list of mobo's. You'd think it would include an entire line, but it doesn't. I don't see my X570 Aorus Ultra listed, but the Elite is.
  3. Rumored AMD Ryzen 9000X3D Cinebench R23 Scores Show up to 28% Performance Gains over the 7000X3D Series

I'm not turning my office in to a sauna to find a prime numbers.
  4. Intel Core Ultra 9 285K Can Draw Up to 370 Watts of Power, Cinebench Tests Show

GN covers this a bit. When he does cooler testing he has that laser imaging machine that shows the flatness of cooler bases and CPU IHS's. They tend to show the IHS to be concave. I wonder if it would be beneficial to lap the IHS and water block base. I did that on my old Q6600 back in the day...
  5. Intel Core Ultra 9 285K Can Draw Up to 370 Watts of Power, Cinebench Tests Show

Definitely not this gen, not after those trash reviews.
  6. AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D Delivers 8% Better Gaming Performance and 15% Better Multi-Threaded Performance than 7800X3D, Marketing Materials Reveal

That's not a very compelling reason to upgrade over a 7800X3D. Personally, in my opinion, I feel that skipping 2-3 generations of processors isn't that detrimental to your gaming experience unless you're still playing at 1080P. Unless there is a massive leap in performance due to architecture...
  7. Intel Core Ultra 9 285K Can Draw Up to 370 Watts of Power, Cinebench Tests Show

There's a lot of surface area on a GPU water block to remove heat from. CPU waterblocks are rather small in comparison. I could see a bigger CPU block, that also covers the VRM's as well, being an option. But since there is no layout standard they would be very expensive. Especially when each...
  8. Intel Core Ultra 9 285K Can Draw Up to 370 Watts of Power, Cinebench Tests Show

370W is exotic cooling territory. I don't think there is a water block that can handle that kind of heat.
  9. AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D and Ryzen 5 5600X3D Discontinued as Pricing for 7800X3D Continues to Trend Upward

5700X3D's are still in abundance. And it's not far off in performance from the 5800X3D. Definitely a lot cheaper as well.
  10. AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D and Ryzen 5 5600X3D Discontinued as Pricing for 7800X3D Continues to Trend Upward

Well that would explain the lack of 5800X3D's being available to purchase.
  11. Researchers Achieve 938 Gb/s Transmission Data Rate on 6G, 9000x Faster than 5G

938 Gbps from like 1 meter. The range and throughput drop off significantly over distance with these higher frequency standards.
  12. NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 Won’t Be Significantly More Expensive than RTX 4090, It’s Claimed

I'm done chasing bleeding edge. The cost versus the return is no longer justified, for me. Once these 5000 series cards drop I'll most likely pick up a used 4090.
  13. NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 Won’t Be Significantly More Expensive than RTX 4090, It’s Claimed

It is relevant, and I didn't single out you. People are complaining about the potential power draw on these 5000 series cards. There are costs when it comes to playing at the bleeding edge.
  14. NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 Won’t Be Significantly More Expensive than RTX 4090, It’s Claimed

If you're concerned about power draw then go AMD. Otherwise deal with it. No one buys a supercar for the fuel economy.
  15. Arm CPUs Projected to Power 40% of Notebooks by 2029 as Intel and AMD Join Forces to Expand x86 Ecosystem

Have you used an ARM based laptop? I had some hands-on time with a Surface Pro with the Snapdragon X1E-80-100. It was SLOW SLOW SLOW as balls. Took forever just to open apps. Intel and AMD are not concerned.
  16. NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 Won’t Be Significantly More Expensive than RTX 4090, It’s Claimed

Unless you get lucky at launch to find one for MSRP I suspect it'll be near impossible to find one that isn't being scalped for $2500+. Even retailers are getting in on the price gouging. So, figure 5-7 months until the craziness dies off.
