No man's sky was... not for.me. Stsrfield was fun but their odd groundhog life esq gameplay was rather crap. Im with you on the first iteration of this game.. I gave I a couple hours and never got into it. I might try outlaws when the Uber edition is super cheap. Until then...
  2. The More You Buy, the More You Enjoy, as Ubisoft Claims That Microtransactions Allow Players to Have More Fun

Whales are idiots... and I mean that sincerely. they don't bother to investigate alternate paths to awesome. For ALL of the recent Assassins Creed games of late they have offered microtransactions for gear/faster advancement. I've personal got a lifetime sub to CheatHappens. Short of...
  3. OptiScaler Update Brings AMD FSR 4 to Any DX 11/12 Title and Upcoming RDNA 5 GPU Is Rumored to Feature 96 CUs with 384-Bit VRAM Bus

I honestly believe that AMD has had issues with scaling GPU performance with the chiplet design. Physics as Brian_B said are holding them back. Traces between chips on a PCB can only move data so efficiently and so quickly. SO they have been held back. Going with a complete SOC a la the...
  4. OptiScaler Update Brings AMD FSR 4 to Any DX 11/12 Title and Upcoming RDNA 5 GPU Is Rumored to Feature 96 CUs with 384-Bit VRAM Bus

We're talking production cycle timelines and development timelines here. You think they made the 9070 chips and said.. "You know what... Job's done... everyone take a year or two off to chill." No before the 9070 was ever out they were moving on and creating what was next. They clearly...
  5. OptiScaler Update Brings AMD FSR 4 to Any DX 11/12 Title and Upcoming RDNA 5 GPU Is Rumored to Feature 96 CUs with 384-Bit VRAM Bus

I am of course curious how this will work... but I'm also not expecting a lot here. AMD needs to step up and show for consumer they are a prime time competitor and not the UHF holdout.

You can count on whatever legal protections that are enforced today will be de toothed in a short period of time and it will be worse. Get your tinted windows, and ir flash tech to disable cameras pointed at your car.
  7. DDR4 Isn’t Dead Yet, as Chip Manufacturers Are Now Rumored to Delay Product Phase-Out amid Skyrocketing Prices

It's almost as if their announcement to wind down product production created a false scarcity, there by driving up prices of DDR4 AND their profits oddly enough at the same time. Can't wait for the anemic fine slapped on them that's less than a 10th of the new profits they just created with...
  8. Might be time to have a subforum for AI

I mean sure it's in the news all of the time right now... but would be nice to be able to have an AI forum for AI specific discussions rather than just the news forums. But that's probably more enterprise focused right now.
  9. Microsoft Lays Off Another 9,000 Employees, Bringing Its Two-Year Job Cuts Total to Nearly 27,000 as It Invests in Building AI Infrastructure

Man that would be sweet, AI driven traffic lights... imagine the metadata they could collect on that. Yea the drive is faster... but here's your ticket for being on the phone while at a real red light. Here's your ticket for an out of date sticker or bad blinker. Here's your medical bill...
  10. ASRock B850 LiveMixer WiFi Motherboard Review

Yea 7 definitely trumps my 4... on my motherboard at 1/2 the price... but I'm pretty sure that's what you're pointing out. :)

  12. Zotac RTX 5090 at Newegg for $2499.99

I see the PNY at Microcenter for the same price. Not real sure what manufacturer has the better card here.
  13. TEAMGROUP T-FORCE GE PRO AirFlow I 2TB PCIe Gen5 M.2 NVMe SSD Review

Not a bad SSD to be honest. PCIE 5 with current NVME controllers is finally looking ready to oust the tried and true Optane drives. Though a bit big cooler wise for my aesthetic, In do appreciate that for people with warm cases or cases lacking air flow this might very well be the best solution!
  14. TEAMGROUP Goes Mission Impossible with One-Click Self-Destructing SSD

It's not going to help for most situations... it's inside your computer... installed in an M2 slot... probably under a heat shield. If someone is breaking into your home to steal data... are you going to be present and have the presence of mind to go and hold down the self destruct button...
