It's not out for another 4 weeks. And it's a €80 game on steam, so I'm not going to be trying it out, even though I admit it looks better than 2016 or Eternal.

My confidence level in star wars is zero, so even though I like turn based games like XCOM, I can't muster up any excitement for this. I used to be excited for Eclipse, until it was leaked that Disney forced them to switch the female protagonist into an uglier one.

This looks plastic enough to me. In a way Doom II looks more realistic than this. Why does everything need specular highlights? The only thing that has the amount of specular they depict in modern games / CGI is shiny plastic and polished metal. I looked at Doom 3 gameplay, and I think it holds...

I think my aversion to modern doom games comes from the visuals. The original Doom I and II used earthly, flat colors, while these modern ones are so shiny and smooth. Everything looks like someone licked it smooth and shiny, even the monsters.

Don't get your hopes up. The way I understand it the game still runs on the old engine, UE5 is just used as a graphics wrapper. So in a way this is a bigger mish mash, potentially combining the downsides of both engines.

Oh, existing mods most definitely won't work. If rumors are true this uses UE5. The question is whether there will be modding support at all. Because if not that will anger the community. And be a deal breaker for me as well.

I'd love a proper remake of Oblivion but not sure about this. It's brown. Have modern game developers ever been to nature? Cuz it's definitely not brown. Also desexualized for the modern audience, and probably body type A B and no modding support.

I'm over remasters, proper from the grounds up remakes are OK.

I never heard of it either, but if its single player, I might check it out. I automatically assumed looter shooter = PvP or PvE multiplayer.

They are isolating their currently in their eyes most valuable IPs, so these can't be so easily auctioned off in bankruptcy proceedings. This is the only goal here, I believe.

They can't possibly do worse than ubisoft has been doing recently.

This game reminds me of Codename Eagle, and that's not a good thing. It was a WW1 game way behind its time, like this one seems to me. A game that I would find to be fine if it came out 15 years ago. The mechanics, the level design, the way the narrative is constructed all feel archaic to me...

Here in the statistically poorest country of the EU, the 5090 is not in stock at all, there are only a couple of 5080s available. From €1800 to €2200 And I thought I overpaid for my 4080 at 1200.
