CNN+ Being Shut Down Just Weeks after Launching

You'd think that would make the most sense, definitely more sense than just folding the entire thing after spending millions on it.

Remedy Announces Max Payne and Max Payne 2 Remakes for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, Developed on Control’s Northlight Engine

I never got around to completing the original Max Payne or playing its sequels - so definitely interested in these remasters.

PS3 Emulation Reportedly in Development for PlayStation 5

I bet they're only developing PS3 b/c so they *can* nickel and dime players through a subscription service. I reckon these PS3 titles will be digital only and available through their PS Plus service (ala Nintendo Online) and it won't actually be able to run PS3 discs. Sony's been less bullish...

The Witcher 3 “Better” than Dragon Age: Inquisition, Says Former BioWare Studio General Manager

Not sure if a more accessible engine would've helped Dragon Age Inquisition that much. A lot of the gameplay in the game was filler-style content, I remember some of the maps felt like a boring slog (especially the tedious DLC content). Witcher 3 on the other hand, every quest in that game...

ASRock Doubling Down on NFTs with Z690 PG Riptide NFT Edition

Not buying anything until the FPSr verdict comes in.

Fallout: New Vegas 2 Reportedly in Early Discussions at Microsoft and Obsidian

Yar, exactly. Just give Obsidian access to the IP and let them decide which part of the world they want to make a Fallout game about.

Netflix Removing Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and All Other Marvel Shows on March 1

Disney could've really poured salt on the wound by allowing Netflix to still host Iron Fist.

Chrono Cross Remaster Announced for PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch

I never played Chrono Cross when it first came out, I picked it up years later for my Vita but couldn't get past its 'PS1-era' appearance. This remake will probably get me to pick it up again if the appearance is cleaned up enough (and seems like an excellent title for the Steam Deck).

ALT Motion Controller Wants to Replace Gaming Keyboards

I remember an article where a guy using a similar device (might be the same guy, actually) broke typing records. And I can see why, basically a single flick will take you to whatever key required. I do agree that it'd be a steep learning curve to learn, but probably worth it. Looking at it...

Steam Deck’s Battery Life Might Be Worse than Advertised, but SD Card Load Times Are Surprisingly Fast

It makes sense uncapped framerates would drain that battery quick. I'm thinking we'll see better battery life once Valve has their software ready to go (ie: optimized brightness/performance levels, Steam OS tweaks, etc). I'm eating up the videos for this device, really feeling pumped for it...

Steam Deck Users Are Surprised at How Big the Handheld Is

Not sure why there's surprise the thing's so large, I remember seeing comparisons with the Nintendo Switch during the media hands-on event where the Deck dwarfed the console.

Dying Light 2 Fans Unhappy over Last-Minute Addition of Denuvo

I'm Canadian, so it sounds more like "nooo-ehn" for us. Now that the word's stuck in Dan's mind, he's totally going to unknowingly write 'noone' in one of his reviews, which I'll promptly quote.

Dying Light 2 Fans Unhappy over Last-Minute Addition of Denuvo

There's a large movement of us who rightfully believe 'no one' should be a compound word.

AMD Radeon RX 6950 XT Tipped for April Release

I dunno, part of me says 'makes sense, there wasn't a huge gulf between RX 6800 XT and RX 6900 XT anyways', but another part says "Why not just refresh them both?" What they really need to do is release a RX 6550 XT (without the gimpy laptop lanes) and bury that RX 6500 XT to the OEMs.

MSI Refreshes Radeon RX 6800/6900 GAMING TRIO Series with Higher Clocks and Aluminum Backplates

I've had two Gaming X models (2080 Super and a 3090): I quite liked those beefy boys, but always thought it was weird MSI used a plastic backplate (or whatever material it was) and not aluminum for their high end Gaming X series. I heard they fixed this with the Gaming Z revision.

FTC to Handle U.S. Antitrust Review of Microsoft-Activision Blizzard Deal

I think FF XIV used text for their chat, so text chat isn't unheard of on console. Feels like PSO-style emoji's could also be a good way to communicate in those games too. At least simple communication.

Steam Deck Launching February 25, First Units to Ship Out Just a Few Days Later

Who's going to write the FPSr verdict on this hardware??

    This explains some things

There's a local guy willing to trade his recently purchased 6900 XT (still sealed, direct from AMD - or so he claims) for a RTX 3080. I'm feeling the temptation, I don't have that much of a need for raytracing, I like the idea of 16 GB, faster raster, and I've got a soft spot for Radeon.
