AMD Refutes Claims That ARM Is More Power-Efficient than x86, and That AI Is Underhyped

You can blame Intel for the NPU BS. They stated including 'NPU's in their CPU's with the core ultra's. And they are trash (I have one). They don't do anything to accelerate anyhting. No copilot running local, no local LLM's nothing. Just pure garbage. The integrated on die GPU does...

Acer Announces 27″ Dual-Mode OLED Predator Monitor Featuring up to 720 Hz Refresh Rate

Would i give up my oled to go back to CRT. No. Never. Refresh rate for me isn't the end all be all. Yes it is part of the equation. Im not running a 30hz screen after all. But this chase after refresh rates seems to be more marketing than use case.

Acer Announces 27″ Dual-Mode OLED Predator Monitor Featuring up to 720 Hz Refresh Rate

I still don't get the desire for refresh rates that high. Then again I never ran doom and 320*200 for max FPS either.

Database design optimization - MariaDB (MySQL)

Honestly I would do a query analyzer to see what your query is doing. Search for a 3rd party tool for the DB software you're using?

Database design optimization - MariaDB (MySQL)

Do you have indexes of the specific data in question created for the tables being queried? Do you know the job that is running for the report, is it using good syntax to prevent things like full table scans where it is not needed? I'm thinking a good index and optimized query will help a...

OOF... while I like mine... I don't know that I would consider spending 1k for 8TB in a single drive. At least not right now. ESPECIALLY for consumer grade TBW.

Intel Files Patent For Software-Defined Super Cores, Allowing 2 or More Cores to Function as One

Ah, yea our demand for minimal latency is extreme. Part because our vendors DB design is... very specific. I'll leave that as is. And part just because of the nature of what we do. We track the nanoseconds of every jump in our DB (via triggers) to make sure that we have everything as...

Intel Files Patent For Software-Defined Super Cores, Allowing 2 or More Cores to Function as One

Oh ok that's cool. My clusters don't have nodes.. errr actually they do I we just don't like the idea of having our DB's in the cluster.. Sharing IOP's is not for us, nor is setting up direct mapped shares per host for the VM's themselves... I suppose I could read up on doing that, haven't...

Intel Files Patent For Software-Defined Super Cores, Allowing 2 or More Cores to Function as One

Again this is all use case based. There isn't a blanket this way is fastest all of the time... I mean other than having enough ram to load your entire database into memory....
