    Joining Primegrid

I also forgot to mention when selecting the project to make sure you UNCHECK any other projects so only ESP is selected. I think by default it selects one of the projects for you and its not ESP. Might be one of the sieve projects.

Folding@Home January TeAm record run 2026

I started a thread showing how to join the Primegrid Challenge series. https://forums.thefpsreview.com/threads/joining-primegrid.19250/ So we don't clutter this F@H thread with BOINC talk. Sorry about that.

    Joining Primegrid

A few of us on the team buy hardware specifically for BOINC/Distributed Computing and have decent sized farms that can do a tremendous amount of computing. Most of the hardware comes from eBay. Buying decommissioned enterprise hardware for relatively cheap. Not sure if you're wanting to get...

Folding@Home January TeAm record run 2026

I find BOINC more fun. We have multiple competitions during the year that we compete in. From the Primegrid Challenge Series which one is set to start in a few hours. A competition the team has dominated in the past few years winning something around 30 challenges consecutively and counting...

Folding@Home January TeAm record run 2026

Well I'm currently not running F@H. Haven't decided if I'm going to this month or not. I do run BOINC nearly 24/7 year around with a slow down during the hot months. Hardware is mostly EPYC setups with a bunch of 30-series GPUs. Still got a bunch of Nvidia P100s, but I uninstalled them a...

Was it just me or did it seem like a lot of companies don't know what "CES" means or at least they don't know the meaning of the "C" in "CES."

MSI GeForce RTX 5090 Lightning Z Is Already Brewing Up a Storm Thanks to Its Two 12V-2×6 Connectors and 2,500 Watt XOC BIOS

I mean technically it is, but a case fan isn't going to change much either way. If you could cryo-cool the connectors then it would be fine. It would lower the resistance to a point where it wouldn't melt anymore. but again, a case fan isn't getting those kind of temps haha

MSI GeForce RTX 5090 Lightning Z Is Already Brewing Up a Storm Thanks to Its Two 12V-2×6 Connectors and 2,500 Watt XOC BIOS

I remember back in the good ole days. Silicon lottery was a thing. Getting the best CPU that can overclock. Now it's a connector lottery. Getting a connector built within' the right tolerances that doesn't melt.

I almost never go to the other forum anymore. I always just come here because I know it works and if it's not working I know I can reach @David_Schroth and ask why he broke it.

    What fittings are these?

I need these for my setup and I'm not sure what I am looking at. It looks to be a bunch of fittings here, but I'm not sure which ones. Starting at the bottom it appears to be a right angle elbow, then a long extension, then a short extension, then another right angle elbow, not sure what the...
