    Intel Core Ultra 9 285K & Ultra 5 245K CPU Review

For a locked down CPU, the 225F is doing pretty well against 245KF: https://browser.geekbench.com/v6/cpu/compare/16587461?baseline=16588169 High performing 9600X vs. 225F: https://browser.geekbench.com/v6/cpu/compare/16720390?baseline=16587461 Gimped 9600X (probably bad cooling or ECO mode)...

This is how badly Intel screwed itself over

It's a general purpose CPU. They didn't take anything out of it other than locking it down and disallowing memory overclocking. It should perform better than stock Arrow Lake in most cases. Even with HT disabled, it could perform better than 245K and 9950X (SMT off). The X3Ds obviously it can't...

This is how badly Intel screwed itself over

The CPU a lot of gamers are dreaming about but Intel won't sell it to them: Someone on overclock.net got one but the ASUS APEX mobo is giving RAM error code 55.

    Tradepub ebooks (updated weekly)

Yup. I get mine with my personal gmail address. If you go down into the rabbit hole and try to get stuff on tradepub other than what I post here, you might encounter books or guides etc. that will refuse your personal email address but the ones I post here, they are fresh every week and I never...

Ongoing AMD Zen6 Rumors Continue to Suggest a 12-Core Single-CCD “Olympic Ridge” Processor Is Inbound for the AM5 Platform

Those too impatient to wait for Nova Lake 52 core have another option: https://browser.geekbench.com/v6/cpu/compare/16387221?baseline=16569724 :P

Battle of the Granite chips! https://browser.geekbench.com/v6/cpu/compare/16387221?baseline=16711629 Honestly, pricing is the only deterrent otherwise so many people would snatch the 658X for their next vanity build. Not doing awful against the Threadripper 9960X either...

Rumor: AMD Zen 6 Processors Could Arrive in Configurations Ranging from 6 Up to 24 Cores

https://videocardz.com/newz/amd-zen-6-desktop-ryzen-olympic-ridge-reportedly-set-to-launch-in-2027 If true, this could enable Intel to sell a few thousand (or who knows, even hundreds of thousands?) NVL chips to impatient people bored with their Zen 5 or earlier CPUs. Maybe AMD doesn't expect...

Windows 11 ARM (virtualized in UTM) on M1 Macbook Air benchmarked

Beware that using Win11 ARM in UTM maxes out P-core usage. You might easily suffer a loss of battery life anywhere from an hour to two hours or more. Seems QEMU (which is what UTM is based on) uses extra cores to compile ahead or something as it was using two P-cores even when I was benchmarking...

Windows 11 ARM (virtualized in UTM) on M1 Macbook Air benchmarked

I just discovered that Windows ARM is built on a really shaky foundation. Normally, if you install a vcredist package over the ARM one, it won't let you install the x64 version. But I used an AIO vcredist installer that silently installed the x64 DLLs. Now only the x86/x64 visual studio...

Win11 ARM running virtualized in UTM on M1 Macbook Air: https://browser.geekbench.com/v6/cpu/compare/16649379?baseline=16632958 The single thread performance is ok. This run was with GB6 pegged to one core so that might explain the really bad multicore performance. I will run GB6 again with...
