A Troubling Trend Is Growing as PC Hardware Manufacturers Cancel Orders Only to Repost the Same Product at a Higher Price

When I got my first used 3090, it was a Zotac. Unigine was fine. Furmark was fine. Then I decided to check the UE5 Matrix demo (the one they also released on PS5). That demo saved me because within minutes, there was snow everywhere on the screen. I rebooted the system. Checked Unigine and still...

NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 Upscaling Performance Review & Analysis

Even more fun would be lying that the FSR screen is using DLSS and vice versa to a large number of unsuspecting gamers to reveal the percentage of brand monkeys in the population :P

This is how badly Intel screwed itself over

Sadly, most game engines are not like that. There's no denying that the Skymonts are nice when you have a lot of them. Still, Intel couldn't put more of them in Arrow Lake due to the bigger size of Lion Cove cores and it bewilders me why they don't have 4P+24E or even 2P+32E SKUs. Would have...

This is how badly Intel screwed itself over

MacOS has some crazy behavior. I have to be ABSOLUTELY sure to eject a removable device otherwise next time I plug in, it won't get mounted. First few times this happened, I couldn't understand why. Then I looked in the Mac Task Manager and saw that it was running fsck on it. Since my USB flash...

This is how badly Intel screwed itself over

Instead of spying, if the OS instead kept track of the computing needs of the various processes and how loaded each core was, it could automatically schedule the most compute intensive threads to the most powerful and most under-utilized cores first. Intel Thread Director also makes things...

ASUS Advises Users of AMD 800-Series Motherboards to Update BIOS as It Investigates Reports of Burnt Ryzen 7 9800X3D Processors

Undervolt the cores. Make sure Vsoc does not exceed 1.2V (fix it to that voltage or lower in BIOS). Reduce max temp from 95C to 90 or 85C. If possible, do not use ASUS's performance boost features in the BIOS. Also if possible, turn off EXPO and manually overclock the RAM to the kit's rated...

This is how badly Intel screwed itself over

The average user has no idea what E-cores are or what process lasso does or what process affinity means. Now if Intel had gone out of their way to get all the game studios to release patches for their game engines to support their CPUs properly, things might have been better. But that's a...

This is how badly Intel screwed itself over

My M1 Macbook Air actually beats my hot as heck and power hungry 12700K in the overclock.net Excel benchmark but I mainly use it for watching movies. Can't get used to the MacOS way of doing things. If Apple ever decides to kill the x86 market, they just need to strike a deal with Microsoft...

ASUS Advises Users of AMD 800-Series Motherboards to Update BIOS as It Investigates Reports of Burnt Ryzen 7 9800X3D Processors

Makes sense. I remember reading that some of the unfortunate users had their CPUs at stock which means higher voltages.

A Troubling Trend Is Growing as PC Hardware Manufacturers Cancel Orders Only to Repost the Same Product at a Higher Price

I never liked Zotac. Their GPUs are the cheapest in my region and never once did I feel the need to get even a RTX 5050 because they have a reputation of using crappy thermal solution and their fans are noisy and die early. I do have a Zotac 3090 I bought used for $652 but the seller had it...

This is how badly Intel screwed itself over

I would rather they did that. Like the rumored Royal Core or Beast Lake. At least then AMD CPUs would get cheaper :P And then AMD would fire back with more cache or more cores in the next gen. I loved the wars they had going during the P4 and Athlon era. Core 2 is a direct result of those wars...

Fable Reboot Is Set to Arrive in Autumn 2026, Continuing Its British-Humor-Styled Approach as a Fairytale, Not a Fantasy RPG

Stories over at Tweaktown reporting how two important features were dropped. Dog companions and good vs. evil morality system. Sooooo....what's left? :D

This is how badly Intel screwed itself over

Seems like it and also despite Intel's arrogant claims that their packaging tech is superior to AMD's, it actually sucks and doesn't work that great outside of lower powered mobile chips. And I assume it's also more expensive than AMD's so they aren't making much money doing things their way either.

ASUS Advises Users of AMD 800-Series Motherboards to Update BIOS as It Investigates Reports of Burnt Ryzen 7 9800X3D Processors

You should be fine if you have your CPU temp cutoff at 85C. I think the boosting and hitting 95C constantly in low threaded workloads takes a toll on the CPU eventually because higher frequency needs excess voltage for stability. That's why many people reported losing their CPUs while browsing...

This is how badly Intel screwed itself over

Problem isn't Arrow Lake as much as the halo part being really hard to bin for Intel. And once word gets around that the halo part is crap, people seem to dismiss everything under it. My 245KF underperforms at stock compared to my 12700K but there are rare instances where it can beat the 12700K...
