Catch up to what exactly? Steal a slice of the smallest Pie in IT?
AMD wanted to win mindshare when they were entering the CPU market for servers so they did lots of stuff targeting consumers that were in charge of those purchases.
Now with AI farms the gloves are off... every cpu and...
I mean if nvidia had confidence their connectors are so good. Why not put a fully built system above Jensen's desk for people to game on in a magnesium chassis.
Guys they are just trying to correct the melting connectors issue and everyone cries... geeze... either you want nanny state corporate risk mitigation or you want extreme performance. How DARE you expect a released product to perform to spec WITHOUT self destructing.
I have to say I've helped more people recover from a faulty blue screening Nvidia driver update than I have AMD. It's a single case point but that's where it stands.
I suspect most compute will shift to tablet and smart devices and away from desktops and laptops. Heck laptops have largely replaced desktops as it stands in corporate environments.
Honestly what they need is a solid variable resolution gaming display on this laptop that supports VRR and Gsync/freesync natively. Couple that with good productivity app compatibility, a solid battery life, the ability to have a good 15 inch + display that can run in 4k or something just above...
When you're responding to my post recognize that I was saying that Single player AAA games are still good and going strong. So the context of my post was in the theme of Single player games hence my response. I hope that helps it make more sense! :)
I mean to be fair I run a 42 inch C3 4k as my primary and a dell 1440p 27 inch as a vertical second monitor next to it.
What's awesome about that is the PPI is dead on so my windows don't get funky when I drag them between windows.
yea it's not fair but lets be real. MS will follow the user base. If the users say we want Office 365 with one drive on Ubuntu or Redhat it will happen eventually.
Open source will not cut it for productivity apps. You need to natively run office from MS. It's manageable, gives easy backup (one drive) and multiple device continuity for documents. All of that is important in an enterprise space.
when you start running equivelant software MS makes...
Wearing that Gorilla badge again I see. You're coming across as hostile in your communications trying to vehemently defend Intel's newest gen of CPU's for some reason. I don't know why you APPEAR to be taking it personally.
Budget defines target for what you can afford in DIY computing...
My perception here doesn't match yours at all.
Now good single player AAA games are fun and in my mind worth the spend. (and open world racing games specifically Forza Horizon.)
Sure non AAA games are a dime a dozen for various triple A, Vampires clones... I suppose those are called...
