Sony Avoids Commenting on PlayStation 6 Update and Instead Says That PlayStation 5 Is Only Midway into Its Life Cycle

I'm good. I can wait. The PS5 just turned 5 and the Pro just turned 1, so it's not quite over the hill yet. It was 7 years between 4 and 5. with a Pro in the middle of that. And 7 years between the 3 and 4, which seemed a lot longer than that. And 6.5 years between the 2 and 3, which didn't seem...

Bungie Is Working on Removing Artwork from Marathon After a Former Employee Plagiarized Content

I'm betting this launch doesn't go well. A shame, the original Marathon is classic. This is ... not, I predict.

Need to pour one out for both of those names.

Three most popular hardware items on Newegg (all three may surprise you!) on Nov 02, 2025

I have trouble believing that a $4k prebuilt and a $1600 gpu are top sales - by volume or revenue. This looks more like a “we wish these were top sellers so jump on the bandwagon and buy one too” type marketing

Rockstar Announces Yet Another Delay for Grand Theft Auto VI Following Layoffs and Accusations of Union Busting

Only ever played 4 and it was ok, just ok. I’ve had 5 for years (free on EGS) but never could get into it - something about the gameplay just felt off

An example of tricks used by some review sites to declare some component as top notch

I’ll just read it out loud using my best Mario impression.

Which DOS games do you remember playing in the 90s?

Back when I first got 32G and it was “a lot”, 15 yrs ago or so? - I did try this - same exact thinking as you. It was underwhelming for most use cases. And then SSDs came along… I still only have 32G today…

    Intel Core Ultra 9 285K & Ultra 5 245K CPU Review

Apple finally dropped all intel support just this year. The latest OS X won't support them at all anymore. That said can always use an older OS version.

An example of tricks used by some review sites to declare some component as top notch

Great article - I use a lot of those tricks in my own sales presentations to be honest. The art of selecting the base range for a graph to make the results, while still entirely accurate, be perceived in the manner you want them to be, for instance. The dude really needs a spell checker though...

DRAM Prices Skyrocket to a Record 171% YoY Level as Shortages Continue amid Increased Demand from AI-Driven Applications

Hmm - my bingo card for Why DRAM Prices are Going Up This Time has a square for "AI starts human culling", is that like the same thing here?

    Worthy K800 keyboard replacement?

I went from Logitech to Corsair to Ducky over the past several years. Each felt like a pretty significant step up in quality. The Ducky is no-frills, but the most solid feeling keyboard I've ever owned - reminiscent of the older IBM models. They do have a wireless model available, but I don't...

    Intel Core Ultra 9 285K & Ultra 5 245K CPU Review

I'm only one data point, but... If you ask me - hey, is longevity important to my PC parts selection - well yes, it is. (I am saying this in the context of the poll that was linked - so yeah, CPU slot upgradeability) In practice - how often have I ever just upgraded a CPU on an existing...

Yet Another Sapphire Nitro+ 9070XT Becomes Victim of Burnt 12V-2×6 Power Connector

This, or really, if you think about it - a current PC design is focused around the CPU. But the CPU no longer consumes most of the power, and in many cases, doesn't do most of the processing. On these high end builds really they should be built up around the GPU - the motherboard should be the...

A New Study Shows That Most People Are Unable to Perceive the Difference of 8K on a Smaller Screen Unless They Are Extremely Close to It

27" used to be a giant massive cabinet of a TV though. I can remember my first TV was a 27" Trinitron and it weighed like 300 lbs and seemed absolutely ~massive~ in my living room. I kinda miss that TV.

A New Study Shows That Most People Are Unable to Perceive the Difference of 8K on a Smaller Screen Unless They Are Extremely Close to It

I've got 27" 4K's right now... I dunno if I could tell between 1440 and 4k, I've never tried that... but I can definitely tell between 1080 and 4k.
