Denuvo Has Been Broken: Hypervisor Bypasses Enable Day-Zero Cracks, Irdeto Promises a Fix

DRM is just there as an insurance policy for share holders of the publisher. You want your money as a developer? Then you gotta play by the publisher's rules. And nothing scares an investor more than losing out on money. They just consider it a form of risk management. At least until it's...

Thermalright Announces AI HydroNous R1, a Custom-Designed Mini PC Featuring a Liquid-Cooled AMD Ryzen AI Max+395 Processor

The amount of ammonia I'm around at work is ... significant. A small leak from a compressor doesn't bother me a bit That, and ammonia compressors = well below zero °F if you want them to.

Thermalright Announces AI HydroNous R1, a Custom-Designed Mini PC Featuring a Liquid-Cooled AMD Ryzen AI Max+395 Processor

I'm disappointed it didn't include an ammonia chiller Being a word play on Anhydrous (I'm assuming) - which means "no water" and commonly associated with ammonia

Microsoft Is Force-Upgrading All Windows 11 24H2 PCs to 25H2, and You Can’t Opt Out

I don't really mind forced security updates I absolutely despise forced content updates.

Update your firmware for your home class devices!

I can't think of a single US-made router to be honest, except maybe the Starlink proprietary one

Amazon, Google, and Microsoft Are Under Pressure from Investors to Release Information Regarding Data Centers’ Water and Energy Usage

Only because DEI is out of fashion now. It won't be long before it comes back around as full ESG again - it's only because they are making insane levels of money on it that people are mostly turning a blind eye to things they once rallied against.

Valve Could Ditch Using a Custom Processor for Steam Deck 2 in Favor of One That Might Outperform the PlayStation 6/Xbox Project Helix

You are not wrong. I predict, if it gets that bad, the market will turn parallel to the mobile phone market - where they are just upgrading the camera for some rediculous reason and nothing else ever really changes generation over generation. Sure, probably won't be a camera, but it'll be...

Cyberpunk 2077 Trading Card Game Crowding Breaks Multiple World Records

What was the Witcher game? Gwent? That went over pretty well if I recall, but I'm not really into that scene. I guess this one is physical cards?

Early Canadian Listings for AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 Suggest It Could Fetch $1000 in the U.S.

Honestly I think if my computer shat the bed right now, I'd just get a Mac Mini so I could get work stuff done at home and call it quits. Between Mining Bubbles 1 and 2, Covid, and now this AI crap, and the market continually getting smaller and more exclusive and expensive and pushed by both...

Valve Could Ditch Using a Custom Processor for Steam Deck 2 in Favor of One That Might Outperform the PlayStation 6/Xbox Project Helix

I don't think it's a bad strategy honestly. Graphics and FX can only get you so far, it's the games (and the communities that spring up around the games) that drive revenue and engagement. I mean, honestly... who would have thought the top money-making entertainment IP in the world ... not Star...

Intel Pays 14.2 Billion to Buy Back Full Ownership of Ireland’s FAB 34 from Apollo

Ireland was a hotbed for manufacturing for a long while. They are EU-backed, and had (have?) some very generous tax rules. Kinda like Delaware.

Geekbench Flags Intel iBOT Results as Potentially Invalid, Investigation Finds Vectorized Instructions Behind 30% Gains

When you are behind in the race you do what you can to kneecap whomever is ahead of you. I mean, as we used to say in the Navy: if you aren't cheating, you aren't trying.

Stormgate is Shutting Down Its Online Modes at the End of April

I downloaded it just to see, since it's free. It had some decent cinematics. But the game itself felt kinda stale. I didn't get very far though.

Valve Could Ditch Using a Custom Processor for Steam Deck 2 in Favor of One That Might Outperform the PlayStation 6/Xbox Project Helix

I have a feeling they only did "Custom" because AMD gave them a deal on some wafers that binned out too low

Intel Pays 14.2 Billion to Buy Back Full Ownership of Ireland’s FAB 34 from Apollo

That is kinda what investment groups do - invest in things to make a return. Looks like they probably hit their return target.

Stormgate is Shutting Down Its Online Modes at the End of April

First I've heard of it actually

Valve Could Ditch Using a Custom Processor for Steam Deck 2 in Favor of One That Might Outperform the PlayStation 6/Xbox Project Helix

I mean, anything is possible really. Current Steam Deck was custom but it wasn't a huge deviation from anything you could buy off the shelf.
