New Xbox CEO Reportedly Told Employees That “Game Pass Has Become Too Expensive for Players”

What does ' own' mean with no physical media? Sure sure in theory you may have access " indefinetly" with steam or similar, and with library access theres the whim of the provider more so, however, both have a huge loss vs. Physical: you cant re sell squat. This is why i care so much less about...

New Xbox CEO Reportedly Told Employees That “Game Pass Has Become Too Expensive for Players”

Im not resisting libraries nor streaming, its just a pricing issue to me 20$= ok, 30$ not so much. Nothing will happen, physical distribution is already dead, so adding services, libraries and streaming wont make dent into Gabe Newell's fortune. Dont worry about Gabe.

New Xbox CEO Reportedly Told Employees That “Game Pass Has Become Too Expensive for Players”

Reading some old articles things seem.interesting, they had cracked 5 billion in revenue (pre hikes). I guess that means 5 MEASLY billions to MS executives. Supposedly the 20$ tier did not make money because the people there used the service, can really read it any other way. Getting legit subs...

New Xbox CEO Reportedly Told Employees That “Game Pass Has Become Too Expensive for Players”

I had a fire stick and ultimate for all of 2 months, the intention at 20$ was to keep it you forever like netflix. The service I had no complaints with, but a 10$ hike was an inmediate cancel, 20 I thought it reasonable enough even if a few games are played on the regular (you know finish one...

So, they overdid it and broke the sweet spot of profit/sales. Likely we will never really know though, with solid numbers I mean.

Geekbench Flags Intel iBOT Results as Potentially Invalid, Investigation Finds Vectorized Instructions Behind 30% Gains

Well i think its interesting, its a good tool, but its true, its not really a ' cpu' architecture improvement. Its more of a software optimization process for the specific cpu, like a key and lock. Be it that intel needs to work on things so.its supported, yeah thats not a thing, if it was a...

Ramageddon Claims Another Victim: Rasperry Pi 500+ Hits $410, Nearly As Expensive as a Mac Mini

Its time now for better use of more but slower memory... Becuase of no need, since the industry seemed to always provide better and faster all the time, no one tried solutions. That era is over, very over.

Valve Could Ditch Using a Custom Processor for Steam Deck 2 in Favor of One That Might Outperform the PlayStation 6/Xbox Project Helix

Eggxactly. Im sure by the time they are deciding, theyll probably do custom anyway, unless theres too much issues with the # of units they need to pay out of the gate or something.

NVIDIA Unveils DLSS 5, to Help Achieve Photorealistic Lighting While Honoring the Artist’s Original Intent and Image Quality

I think part of the negativity may be due to the seemingly ham fisted "AI" everything / centric approach Nvidia is taking. The dont worry we will take care of everything with our AI, just come to daddy leather jacket. That said, is there even another way to advance visuals , raytracing etc as...

NVIDIA Unveils DLSS 5, to Help Achieve Photorealistic Lighting While Honoring the Artist’s Original Intent and Image Quality

It will all be AI slop, good slop and bad slop. AI all over the place, the entire process, meh whatever, its a matter of choosing. People will buy, by the billions, all kinds of AI slop, no problem, just look at Marvel " movies". But I dont have to see them, so I dont.

AMD Could Be Prepping a Flagship Next-Gen GPU Featuring 96 Compute Units with Memory on a 512-Bit Bus

Question is, how good are those interviews though. Ok ok.in fairness, in the past some things read decent in the wiki. I think newer tech may have out grown human vision perhaps i dont know. Obviously this happens except the Ryzen guy who seems someone just boinked his head with some kind of...

Industry-Wide Layoffs and Studio Closures Continue as Gaming Audiences Lose Interest in New Releases

I do get what you are saying, i think you are correct , in many aspects this market may be more akin to books, and less hollywood movies. But yes project cost ( unlike book) had them going for the hollywood approach too much.
