From Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 to Battlefield 6, More Online Games Are Requiring Hardware Security Measures to Prevent Cheating

Wendell at L1techs take was that secure boot etc. are mostly to make it easier to track who you are and easier to ban people. It was funny that cheats showed up in BF6 within a day or so.

Microsoft Drops $80 Pricing for The Outer Worlds 2 Due to “Market Conditions” and Offers $10 Refund for Existing Pre-Orders

I got the first one I think for free from Prime gaming on GoG. A Humble deal got me the Spacer's Choice edition on Steam and then it was free on Epic at one point. I can wait for lower prices on #2.

Subnautica 2 Drama Ensues as Ex-Studio Heads Sue Publisher After Release Date Was Pushed Back to Reportedly Avoid Paying Bonuses

Yeah, normally I would go with publisher being bad given gaming industry history and I did. But having looked into the devs history and remembering stuff I'd forgotten about their Below Zero game's drama (I avoided most of the early access stuff and played at 1.0), I now put this drama at a...

Former PlayStation Boss Warns That Gaming Subscription Services Could End Up Endangering the Gaming Industry

Yeah, its getting bad out there. At least there are some indies and AA that still interest me. Some show up out of no where but most of the big name stuff I'm wary of. Though a lot of AA games in the $30-60 area of quality are all about milking their niche customers too. I stopped counting last...

NVIDIA Is Reportedly Prepping a July Launch for the GeForce RTX 5050 Featuring 8 GB of Memory

In the era of AI upscaling, we all have 540p or 720p screens scaled upwards. Even at 4k, your 4k netflix etx. video streams aren't exactly true 4k.

DOOM: The Dark Ages Early Benchmarks Indicate a Great-Looking Game That Performs Well at 1080p/1440p but Needs a Powerful GPU for 4K

Yes, but they're better because the hardware limited the software more. The majority of gamers have been stuck with 8GB for 8-10 years now. If I'm stuck spending $400 for a top of the line 1080p or entry level 1440p gpu, I want it to actually be capable and last awhile. That isn't even really...

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 8 GB and 16 GB Models Are Said to Launch Tomorrow with RTX 5060 to Follow in May

Reports of 8gb cards being not sampled is the most hilarious thing so far of this card(s) release. That and the vague release date of the 5060 8gb. The card will apparently just show up on shelves and no review cards sent out.

R.E.P.O Is a $10 Early Access Comedy/Horror Game With Up To Six Players That Has Engaged over a Quarter Million Players in Just One Month

Its this year's lethal company co-op streamer game. Looks decent enough. Better than LC at least. That game fell off like a rock for me.

GeForce RTX 5070 (12 GB) Launches on March 5, Delivering What NVIDIA Says Is Twice the Performance of the RTX 4070 for $549

I just can't wait, why I'm so excited I just can't hide it. I'm about to lose control, up to 150C, can't you tell?

“Complete Sunset”: 2K Launcher Has Been Removed from All Games on Steam and the Epic Games Store

2K thought it was a good marketing tool and released it 2-3 years ago. It made Xcom2 and Midnight Suns annoying to deal with. It is one thing to do it with new games but when you force older games into it, it can screw things up that might not get fixed so easily.

AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D with 4.7 GHz Base Clock Has Been Listed for $484 Ahead of November 7 Release

Ouch, if the rumors of a 11% performance jump over the 7800X3d chips is true. $366 on NE back in August and now $479 in the few places its available.

Piracy Causes a 20% Drop in Game Revenue, Denuvo DRM Research Finds

I hear requiring a psn account for a single player game or one after the fact for a coop mp game causes even bigger drops in revenue.

“Greed Has No Limits”: Sony Raises Price of Horizon Zero Dawn on PS4 After Announcing $9.99 Upgrade Offer for Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered

Hmm, I paid $15 or so for the base game disc version on ps4 and $25 for the PC version on gog a couple of years ago. I think I'll pass on any "remaster".

Sid Meier’s Civilization VII Reveals February 2025 Launch Date and Game of Thrones Star as Its New Narrator

The pricing, the announced dlc and the design choice to emulate Homekind's changing civ idea with each era is offputting. That and I view civ 5/6 as a waste of money. 5 seemed better but 6 was just not fun. I lasted 2 hours or so. Definately a wait and see how it does for its first 1-2 years.

The Acolyte: Season 2 Will Resolve “Four or Five Major Mysteries” If It’s Approved by Disney, Creator of Star Wars Show Reveals

If ifs and buts were candy and nuts...we'd all have a merry xmas special 2.0 with Acolyte stars. Also no one cared about the High Republic stuff because it is lame. Probably dumber than the Vong alien things in the old EU stories.

Probably true. I do appreciate MS giving me monthly updates now where it puts up a full screen thank you note for being a win10 customer but that my system won't support 11 so click on some alternatives (aka new cpus) to updrade etc..
