It's already happening. It is not a major shift, yet. The number of new games playtime by Steam users was around 14% in 2025. I expect it will be single digits in 2026 the way things are going. Some of that is due to game length, more of it is gamers not buying the titles. Different dynamics...

They have laid off, what, 40K+ employees? Sold off assets and taken on private equity partners. Taken money from U.S. taxpayers. Watched their market share continue to decline. Continuing to support old iGPUs is a wasted investment of manpower/money. They have much, much, bigger fish to fry.

This. Never leave money on the table.

If you sell it for $600 in the next 12 months, consider it pre-sold and just let me know when you are ready. AKA, I call dibs. 😁 I certainly haven't. Upscaling works so well starting from 4K, providing a higher frame cap.

Watch how fast millions of us jump ship if they try to force us to use subscription cloud gaming. Indie games will absolutely explode in popularity and sales. They will make games to run on the hardware we are already using. The quantity and quality will skyrocket. Do you want indie to take...

Marvel Midnight Suns - $9 Got this for free from Epic. As I wrote on AT, had no idea if I'd like this game. Never tried the turn based playing cards genre before. Ended up loving it. I've done 2 full playthroughs and unlocked all of the Midnight Suns costumes for each superhero.

Agreed, the potential buyers pool is looking to be pretty shallow. Yup. Upgraders already on the platform are going to be the biggest demographic, more than likely. Of course, if both are basically paper launches, perhaps we won't see the previous levels of shortages and price scalping.

LMK if you do it, I'll be your first subscriber and Patreon. Your kids are free labor, you know? Superfluous. I have already provided so much evidence that we have reached the point of

I have considered it. But it involves some level of work, the worst 4 letter word of them all.

No sir. I have not messed with power limits, still using OOB settings with latest bios. I literally wrote "over 200W" and "you" Pay attention :p Joking of course.

I was expecting to need to undervolt pronto. I've read so many complaints about power and heat with Alder. Of course, most were referencing the higher core counts. But not always. Just because you can make the 12600 draw over 200W, should not be a knock against it. I will probably do the...

I put about 70-80 hours in. I was good and done with it by that time. Which reminds me, I need to go watch the ending on YouTube. They pulled so many extra go here, now go here's on me, at the end, that I rage-quit. 😛 Part of my reaction was I felt like they trolled me by having me grind, then...

I played on game pass, which I canceled, so no gift for me.

I spent a lot of time on game pass, Epic, and GOG this year, so my Steam Epen0rz is small.

Just as with the melting connectors; it is not happening to enough users statistically to raise any eyebrows. Likely never will. Zen 2 failures are much more prevalent than AM5. The 3600 in particular. They may have been lax with binning to meet demand. AM4 boards are aggressive with settings...

To far less than 1% of CPUs sold. And it is almost entirely an ASRock problem. AMD is replacing CPUs, ASRock is replacing boards. Consequently, there will be no fallout. Going back to yet another Intel user having a bad time due to failing Raptor. It goes back to mid last year, in that...

AMD did make a statement, so did ASRock. AMD blamed board makers for aggressive settings. ASRock said the issue was on their end and that AMD was not at fault. On Raptor: 13th VIA oxidation. The big wig in charge of it, resigned around the time the story broke. Huge red flag. Those CPUs were...

Did they though? Since the story blew up last year, AMD has come to completely dominate retail. How many lost sales due to it? How many future lost sales? The reputation damage has permeated everywhere. OEM/ODM ramped up AMD lines. How many sales did it, and more importantly, will it cost...

ARC is a mixed bag. The CPU overhead issues are real. It was amusing when tech channels finally started covering it. Any of us on Alchemist knew about it already. Unlike when A series was new, have to use 3rd party for streaming, recording, screenshots. Retro-gaming is hit or miss even with...

I'd recommend gamers go used for almost the whole build at the moment. Still get deals in for sale/trade forums. Ignore the Ferengi, of course. Just picked up a 12600kf, Z790, 32GB Ballistix Elite 4000MT/s for $275 shipped. Get a pre-built minus GPU off of Ebay, that can play everything, for...
