Intel P-Core Only Bartlett Lake-S Processors Confirmed to Exist in 10 and 12-Core Variants, but Will Not Be Available as Consumer Parts

People can probably get them as tray CPUs through grey channels like in the old days. But it's unclear which boards would properly support them.

    Intel Core Ultra 9 285K & Ultra 5 245K CPU Review

Moving forward, people are going to need whatever DDR5 they can get their hands on. It's getting a little pricey.

KX-7000: The perfect CPU to punish your kid with for not doing homework

Oh that's handy, thanks. So basically it's slower than an R7 1700 from 2016. Hmm. Did that vid cover power consumption?

Vince Zampella, Call of Duty Co-Creator, Co-Founder of Respawn and Infinity Ward, EA Exec, Was Tragically Killed in a Car Accident

Modern cars are pretty quick. You can get a 4-second 0-60 Golf R for $50k. A relatively pedestrian commuter car like the Nissan Altima has a 0-60 in the 8s range. The main things separating such plebian vehicles from that Ferrari are the price and the speed limiter. That Ferrari can go well...

New Mozilla CEO Says Firefox Will Evolve into a “Modern AI Browser” with AI Features That Can Be Turned On or Off by the User

You should be fine. You could even try PaleMoon if you're feeling ballsy enough.

Intel Is Rumored to Be Prepping a Core Ultra 400K Nova Lake-S Processor with up to 52 Cores and 288 MB Big Last Level Cache

This rumour has been going around for awhile. It does seem likely that Intel wants to launch this product, and unlike Nova Lake-AX it has a healthy chance of reaching the market. But! But. It probably won't hit on day 1 in any significant quantity, it'll be expensive (relative to the...

New Mozilla CEO Says Firefox Will Evolve into a “Modern AI Browser” with AI Features That Can Be Turned On or Off by the User

Pretty sure WaterFox and LibreWolf will compile out the AI features. Or at least 99% sure they will. TBH anyone who likes FireFox should just use WaterFox instead.

    Latest Raptor Lake RMA story

Only just a teeny-weenie bit. As I already indicated, the PR hit cost them a lot more.

    Latest Raptor Lake RMA story

Seems like Intel suggested the refund in the first place, why can't they just stick with their own plan? It makes no sense. And now he has to sell a ticking time bomb to someone else. He would need a new board for a 285k. Yeah but then he would be losing performance.

The more you know - thermal paste edition

Negative, but I'll take your word for it. Would't be the first time that happened.

    Intel Core Ultra 9 285K & Ultra 5 245K CPU Review

Oof yeah, bad time to be buying parts to build a system.

    Latest Raptor Lake RMA story

Hope Intel enjoyed the money they saved. Doesn't seem like it's worth the PR hit.

    Intel Core Ultra 9 285K & Ultra 5 245K CPU Review

Nobody knows what the bandwidth or latency would be like on a modern L4 cache implementation. Also you do not want to be on the hook for implementing eDRAM on some/all of your consumer CPUs when the memory manufacturers are busy focusing on HBM production for some company that is not you...

The more you know - thermal paste edition

Wish someone had done a demo like this about 20 years ago. We used to have so many debates about proper AS5 application etc.

    Intel Core Ultra 9 285K & Ultra 5 245K CPU Review

eDRAM lost relevance as DDR4 speeds/latencies improved. Unless current eDRAM implementations were significantly faster/lower in latency than aftermarket DDR5, it wouldn't provide much benefit. Certainly not compared to stacked vcache.

My Ryzen 9 9950X Died... on an ASRock Motherboard (talking head)

Hopefully by that time, the DRAM market will have sorted itself out.
