  1. Graphics Tech startup from the 90s

S3 had some decent attempts with the Savage3D and later Savage4 and maybe Savage2000 models.
  2. NVIDIA News Roundup: N1X PC CPU Specs Leaked in New Benchmarks, RTX 50 SUPER Series with Increased VRAM Rumored To Launch by End of Year

I was hoping for 32GB on the higher end. 24GB is only 50% more than what I already have. Member when we used to double or even quadrulpe the RAM / VRAM in a single year with one upgrade?
  3. Fatekeeper Is a First-Person RPG Coming to Early Access This Winter, and One of Many Titles Covered During THQ Nordic Showcase 2025

Not sure about it being early access. I don't want to play a half finished game, especially not if every update resets progression.
  4. Hideo Kojima Feels That Too Many Games Look Alike These Days and Wants to Be the First to Make Games in Space

He just makes things different for the sake of being different not for the sake of being better. I'll take a proven formula over kojima's any day. Death Stranding could've been good if it had proven mechanics instead of "Oh, I'm so edgy and unique". He is the modern artist equivalent of...
  5. The More You Buy, the More You Enjoy, as Ubisoft Claims That Microtransactions Allow Players to Have More Fun

They would do that if their intent was indeed for most people to enjoy their games. But it's clearly not. They know they can sell 1000 $100 skins to whales but not sure if they can 100.000 1$ skins to normal people.
  6. The More You Buy, the More You Enjoy, as Ubisoft Claims That Microtransactions Allow Players to Have More Fun

I usually end up wildly underestimating my spending on my hobbies when I think I'm highballing it :D
  7. The More You Buy, the More You Enjoy, as Ubisoft Claims That Microtransactions Allow Players to Have More Fun

For Ubisoft it's actually: " The more you buy, the less obstacles we roll in front of your enjoyment" I have no problem with microtransactions that provide new content (a new skin is not new content).
  8. Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.3 Arrives, Bringing New Vehicles & Quests, AutoDrive & Taxi Services, Photo Mode Features, Support for Mac Users, and More

I don't recall if it happened before, but even one CTD is one too many. I started a new game in 2.3, but when the game was supposed to load the ripperdoc UI it crashed to desktop instead. I couldn't be bothered to try again to see if it is a persistent issue or a one time glitch.
  9. Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.3 Arrives, Bringing New Vehicles & Quests, AutoDrive & Taxi Services, Photo Mode Features, Support for Mac Users, and More

I actually had good luck with the game close to release, it had bugs but it didn't crash. It was also stable when I played Phantom Liberty, with patch 2.1. 18 months ago. I haven't played the game in a year, and I wanted to see the new features they added with 2.2 and 2.3 patches, but it seems...
  10. From Cancelled Games to Closed Studios, There’s a Trail of Carnage in the Wake of Microsoft’s Layoffs

I'd change that to "sexy sells". There was no overt sex in games before the crackdown on the "male gaze" has begun in the 2010s. Ironically the only game that I know of that has crude sex in it is the last of us 2, which is considered "safe horny". So it's not that people want sex in games, we...
  11. Destiny 2 Developer Says Bungie’s Team Plans to Create a More Curated Experience So New and Returning Players Can Jump Right In and Play

Ah, the classic: "We think players are stupid, otherwise they'd be playing our masterpiece" Because there is nothing like getting people to play your game like being condescending.
  12. Romero Games Issues a Statement Clarifying That the Studio Has Not Closed After Some Staff Claimed Otherwise

Then pull funding before it fails on its own  Fits right into MS's mo.
  13. Romero Games Issues a Statement Clarifying That the Studio Has Not Closed After Some Staff Claimed Otherwise

I wanna say I agree, but I can't even claim to be sad. The only good thing Romero did since Doom was giving Warren Spector the means to make Deus Ex. Basically still a one-trick pony 32 years later.
  14. Romero Games Issues a Statement Clarifying That the Studio Has Not Closed After Some Staff Claimed Otherwise

"We are not closing, we're just going out of business" - basically this
  15. From Cancelled Games to Closed Studios, There’s a Trail of Carnage in the Wake of Microsoft’s Layoffs

EA only shut down studios after they released a game, not before they even had a chance.
  16. From Cancelled Games to Closed Studios, There’s a Trail of Carnage in the Wake of Microsoft’s Layoffs

Buy every studio possible Close them down before any project is completed What was the strategy here, scorched Earth?
  17. Windows 12 Is No Longer Expected This Year as Microsoft Prepares 25H2 Build Update for Windows 11

I wonder if they are willing to pull the plug on 10 with it still sitting on hundreds of millions of PCs just 90 days to deadline. I have to say I'm still hoping for a last minute decision to not go through with slowly turning half of the world's windows PCs into a botnet. I sure as hell...
  18. Resizable BAR Could Be Left Turned Off by Default by NVIDIA Drivers on Some Systems

Is that an official app? I've never heard about it, and searching the net just gave a bunch of suspect sites posing as official sites that I'm not comfortable downloading and running an app from.
  19. Former PlayStation Boss Warns That Gaming Subscription Services Could End Up Endangering the Gaming Industry

Exactly, with respect to a few exceptions, indie and AA developers are just as greedy leeches as the big bad companies. Some of them literally re-releases the same game every 12-16 months with minor changes, and you don't even get a discount if you already had the version before that, which also...
