    The card wont boot without that connector plugged into a proper source. Chances are it wasn't easy to "hack" it into thinking it was connected, so leaving it connected was probably the best solution.

    I replaced my Roku with one of these. Best decision I ever made. Can't really explain it, but it's so much better. Faster UI, plays my Plex media directly with no transcoding, excellent sound, did I mention a better, very responsive UI? I will never go back to something else.

    I've had mine for a few years now. Still works great. Even at $300. Knowing what I know now, if I didn't have one I'd pay that price for it.

    Well seeing as how installing a water block almost surely voids a warranty. I'd be willing to bet any such cards were reverted to the stock cooling solution for pics.

    The imbalance seems to be caused by poor connection between one or more pins and another pin picks up the slack. Soldering the connection would ensure all pins have a solid connection which should eliminate the imbalance issue which would then eliminate the heat. On my 5090 I have one pin...
