How many motherboards could fit that cooler in the Gen5 M.2 slot? Most Gen5 M.2 slots are right next to the GPU slot..

Last attempts at pulling money from the ol AM4 crowd.. If I hadn't upgraded my daughters system to AM5, this would have been an affordable chip to slap in there for her light needs.

That'd require a redesign of the PCB since the bus width for the memory would be different for the 12GB version vs. 16GB/8GB version. I could be wrong but I believe that is the reason why you don't see 12GB variants with 16GB options for the card.

Gamers Nexus went after AMD too regarding the 8GB variant.. AMD would have hit a home run if they could have just kept their mouth shut, but we all know that's not possible..

Do these laptops have dedicated GPUs at all or are they all Integrated with the CPU?

Only problem I can think of is if Bitlocker is enabled and the TPM is needed for decryption of the drive. That's about it. Like Brian said though, you're better off just reinstalling the OS since the underlying arch of the laptops are drastically different.

I prefer the locking tab... Prevents the cable from just falling out with the slightest tug (I swing my monitors occasionally)..

150C at the PSU Connector looked scary AF. Something is amiss for sure and while this is only report #1 of meltage, I'm sure there will be more given time.
