[UPDATE] Ewan McGregor has told IGN that the delay has nothing to do with the quality of the scripts, which are “really, really good.” Apparently, Lucasfilm just wanted more time to polish them up, so shooting was pushed back.



“It’s just slid to next year, that’s all. The scripts were really good. Now that Episode IX came out and everyone at Lucasfilm has got more time to spend on the writing, they felt they wanted more time to write the episodes.” McGregor said. “I’ve read about eighty, ninety percent of what they’ve written so far, and it’s really, really good. Well if it was shaping up to be a clone of The Mandalorian then it makes sense to halt it. People would just watch it and say, "This seems awfully familiar." TFA was just as bad when it cloned (and juiced up) the Death Star.

Yeah, from what I've read the first season would've consisted of Obi-wan protecting a baby Luke - which does sound a lot like Mandalorian.

All I know is, I haven't had much of a reason to login to Disney+ since finishing The Mandalorian. Service has a real lack of original content imo.

On the same boat about Disney plus. I am in for 3 years... But if they don't make it better and better, not going to renew of course.
Considering who doesn't like the scripts, id say they don't have enough SJW in them ObiWan is not enough of a wimpy POS and there is no "strong woman" to take the lead on the show, even if its "about" ObiWan.

If Kathleen Kennedy is unhappy with the scripts then it probably means the scripts would be great Star Wars. And of course we'll never see any of it because of that. Her disliking something is one of the strongest recommendations you could have with regards to Star Wars.

I'm really questioning the need to maintain my disney+ account.

I also just watched part of the new Aladdin movie so maybe that has something to do with it. Man that was so bad compared to the animated one.

Kathleen Kennedy needs to be fired now. It's obvious she shouldn't have control over anything Star Wars related.

Maybe she wants some strong heroic female Jedi to get a live action series too. I'd be down for that. Like a live action series for Anakin's padwan Asoka? Where she leaves Anikin and go's out on her own. That could be fun to watch. Maybe her and Obi Wan could bump into each other as a crossover.
