Magnetar Unveils Flagship UDP900 4K Blu-ray Player for $2,700

The Magnetar UDP900 will be available for $2,700 in the US, £2,200 in the UK, and €2,490 in the EU when it launches, reports From Vinyl to Plastic. This is a flagship 4K Blu-ray player from Magnetar that includes a number of upgrades over its UDP800 counterpart, such as multichannel RCA outputs; a USB Type B connector for playback via computer, NAS, and other devices; and what appears to be a much beefier build quality. According to a specifications sheet, the UDP900 measures 445x321x133 mm and weighs 34.17 pounds, which is significantly heavier than the UDP800 at 17.6 pounds. Some of the technologies that can be found inside are a quad-core Mediatek MT8581 processor chip and various DACs from ESS, including the ES9028PRO with support for up to 8 channels of audio.
