Ed Boon isn't a fan of the number 12, according to a fresh leak that seemingly confirms Netherrealm Studios' next Mortal Kombat game isn't MK12, but a full reboot of the series that will simply be titled Mortal Kombat. Per a tweet from billbil-kun, Mortal Kombat is in development for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch, with Premium and Kollector's versions available upon release for $109.99 and $249.99, respectively. A separate report from Windows Central claims that Mortal Kombat will be out in September 2023, with Peacemaker being one of the bonus characters. Adding credence to the leak is a teaser video that the official Mortal Kombat channel shared yesterday, which depicts a clock stopping at the number 1.

MK9 was a reboot while still keeping the previous timeline canon, and the ending of 11 made it seem like they might do something like that again.

This reminds me that I started playing one of these a few months ago then totally forgot about it.
