Panasonic Avionics, the world’s leading supplier of in-flight entertainment and communication systems, has announced that United Airlines will be the first U.S. airline to adopt Astrova, the company's latest, premium in-flight engagement solution. According to a press release, Astrova will offer customers 4K OLED screens, high-fidelity audio, and programmable LED lighting, and while none of that may be enough to shut the adult crybabies up, the system will begin showing up in select Boeing 787 and Airbus A321XLR aircraft in 2025. Panasonic's 4K OLED screens will be available to airlines in five sizes: 19, 22, 27, 32, and 42 inches, according to another press release that explains how the technology offers "cinema-quality colors and perfect black."
