12th Gen Intel Core i9-12900KS to Cost ~$780 and Feature 150-Watt PBP, according to Early Retail Listings

Leaker @momomo_us has discovered some early retail listings that provide an idea of how much Intel’s upcoming Alder Lake flagship might cost and how its power demands could compare with Intel’s current desktop champion.



According to the listings, enthusiasts can probably expect to pay around $780 for Intel’s 12th Gen Core i9-12900KS, a processor that the company has promised will feature a single-core boost of up to 5.5 GHz right out of the box. The listings also suggest the special edition chip will carry a PBP (processor base power) specification of 150 watts, a 25-watt increase over the current flagship.



For reference, Intel’s Core i9-12900K can be purchased for around $613 based on the processor’s current listings at major retailers. The Core i9-12900KS should begin shipping by the end of this quarter...
